[SC] P.E.T. OR NOT TO P.E.T.

Hi All,

My P.E.T. and I are a team, and I love my P.E.T.. It flies with me everywhere I go collecting my kills and white bonus boxes. I know the white bonus boxes aren't a great find, but every little bit helps. Yes I know it cost a lot for the upgrades and new levels but to me it is worth it. I have seen others say 8th level is the best, and I wish I didn't go higher. Well you don't have too, but why wouldn't you. I make enough kills and collect bonus boxes to refuel it after a day's adventure.

When I see other levels (which are higher than me) they don't have their P.E.T. on. I don't understand why they don't. Is it the fuel cost? Their kills go to waist. P.E.T. does what P.E.T. does and collects. It sees a kill and it will collect it. I have people attack my P.E.T. for that, but they don't collect it either. I have been in battles when P.E.T. was in "Guardian Mode" and the other player sat there or fly off leaving the kill there. I will fly over a get it. I have been shot and killed for doing that. I waited and they didn't seem to want it. It seem they didn't want me to get it either.

The P.E.T. is so useful why don't people use it more. I understand the lower level pilots not using it. It took me awhile for me to activate my P.E.T., but once I did I never stop turning it on. Everyday when I get back to base, I refuel my P.E.T. for the next day. This is one thing DO has I really like. Wish it would give more damage. It has the same type of lasers, and more lasers than my Citadel and it does a lot less damage too.

So fellow Pilots what are your thoughts on your P.E.T..

Some people do not own one, others (botters usually) don't want to fight with the PET for boxes and many people do not want the credits from the cargo and therefore they do not collect it. Those that attack you for collecting the cargo may think you are trying to steal some of the NPC's they have accumulated.

 

I'm non-premium, and refining ore has to be done manual.
Not worth picking it up.
Otherwise, I have to open that window and click 15 times to refine it.
And for what. 10K credits?
It's faster shooting two more NPC.

Picking up boxes is only worth while if there are special boxes. On regular maps it picks up other cargo as well, which takes me back to my first point. I'm usually almost as good, if I just pickup the boxes myself.

Wrt kills.
I wish i had never brought my PET above level 8. It just ends up costing more.

You have some good points. I heard that before about 8th level. As for me my P.E.T. and I work's well and I want it to me the most it can be. I just have to kill more for the cost of the fuel it burns.

The only problem I have with my P.E.T. is locking onto it. Did it twice today and shot it the first time trying to kill the little Blighted creatures because my P.E.T. is the same size and color (well maybe a little redder).
