Well I'm asking again this question. I can't find my original posting to see if there was a reply.

My P.E.T. is equip with Auto Loot Level 1.

Why does P.E.T. retrieve Bonus Boxes off the screen south of me, and can't get a box half way up the screen north of me. My viewing window is 12 inches. That means 6 inches to the edge North and South of me (The Ship). P.E.T. will travel more then 6 inches south in getting a box, and only travel 3-4 inches North to get a box. There could be more north of that and it won't go and get them. I have 9 inches East and West of ship.

Plus, When P.E.T. picking up a Bonus Boxes, there could be one right next to the one P.E.T. just pick up. P.E.T. will leave that box there. The two boxes could almost share the same space (overlap) If I move the ship over some, closer to the second box, then P.E.T. will go back out and pick up the box.

My second ship on another server has level 3, and it goes all over the place picking up boxes, and off my screen. I can watch it on my "Mini Map." I do have a question. Why doesn't it travel like I see other's do? I have seen P.E.T. from other players and not the player. It seems that their P.E.T. travels a lot father than mine. Do I need more than one Level 3 Auto Loot cards on my P.E.T.? There is another thing I notice too. Their P.E.T. seems to pop in and out of viewing like is cloaked and uncloaking automatically.

Last question and a new one: At what level P.E.T. needs to be to buy 3rd Level equipment (Gear and AI Protocols)? I'm 14th Level and my P.E.T. is 7th Level, and I only can buy 2nd Level Equipment. I should be able to buy any Level for my P.E.T. at anytime. Why is there a restriction?

Last question first. At pet level 8, you can get level 3 gear.

How far a pet will go depends on how many (and level) radar you have on the pet. Load up a pet with level 3 radar and its going to be hard to get it to pick up the on screen ore you are sitting by. I have 12 level 3 radar, and can be on one end of the pally map while pet is on the other end.

Pets appearing and disappearing has to do with the players cloak. The pet will pop up when picking up boxes/ore and then cloak away.

Your first question has to do with the pet AI. It's broke. It was broke when it was introduced. Don't expect it to get better. I tell my pet to pick up boxes and it takes off half way across the map. 7 boxes sitting around me while I shoot npc and I end up manually picking them up with my ship. Go figure...

To find your OLD THREADS;

1. Hover mouse over your name (Top Right of Forum page)
2. In Drop Down near bottom in right column find "Your Content"
3. Click this and it opens a page of all of your Posts and Threads done by date
4. Find the Thread you created and click it and there you go.

You may want to bookmark this page for easy access to PET issues, it is the Original PET Thread. You might even click the "FAQ Index" in my signature and bookmark it as it will help find a lot of the answers you desire.

May I suggest you don't get too carried away with buying PET Stuff until it is level 8 so you can get the better level 3 stuff.

Accept the help it gives to you collecting the few items it collects and collect what it does not. Unless you are using the salvage protocols it does not matter who collects the box you get the same thing.

Thinking on the same line as you. Most of my P.E.T. slots are empty. I will get 3rd level when I can. My first ship on the different server has a lot of 1st level stuff I don't need or use.
