Say, I just got rebate & doubler, and decided to work on PET to open up more slots, and buy more Protocols & Gears that I plan on using later on. Right before buying a protocol, I just realized;

With the announcement and release of the level 4 gear, "Sacrificial Flame," are there going to be level 4 gears & protocols in the near future? No sense in wasting Uridium on level 3s if level 4s are gonna come out.

 

I heard that Kamikaze definitely not. The rest not sure.
That was stated by OP32 on discord when This Sacrificial Gear came out

 

Not sure if this information is true, but if I heard right they're going to announce level 4 protocols as well. But to be honest, I don't even trust anything they say, so many things have been reverted back or not implemented or changed on the last minute what they've said.

 

The Level 4 stuff is not even going to be in SHOP for a while yet. The last thing said here was form OP32 and that the FAQ was incorrect about the "Flame" level 4 being added to the Shop was not exactly accurate as they plan on giving it away with a mission first.

You could be waiting a while before buying the level 4 stuff to find you wasted this time as it never was intended to be implemented for that particular item. It is like the changes the made to the Fuel Economy Protocol, if you use 3 level 2 you get a much better return than buying one level 3 as you have 10 and a half % compared to 4% and have not spent as much as you would for the 4% reduction granted you can not do as much with the extra slots used but even the one with only a half % reduction is it really that much you lose for the 30K uridium you spend for the higher level now?
