[SC] Ranks went up across all servers today???

GE2 Colonel 8.2m>9m About 4 colonels less on server.
GE2 lost 1 cheif colonel there was 5 before now there is 4.

GB2 Went from 14 colonels to 12 colonels.

 

Simple answer. More players in total. As the ranks are divided by percentage. So that is the only explanation.

But if that is not the case. Then I do not know

But I did notice a rank jump too. Chief captain was 925k needed and now 1 mil +. GE1

 

Who cares? It's rank which does nothing for you.

 

Maybe the ban hammer has gone out.

 

ranks go up becouse more peoples are quit game and low player on server= hard to ghet your rank up, if developers keep this way i dont think we will see 20 years of Darkorbit

 

Rank points went up another 100k for Chief Major on my server, USA east 3.

They are doing something to the ranks and idk what.

 

its sad to see the ranks go up like that, we have good players like myself and DO staff is doing nothing about them BOTS that makes rank go up as well.....thx darkorbit.....EliteAce lvl22

 

few reason ranks can change .... players banned.. you can only have a % of each rank in 1 company ... people bash gates ... people move company ... players go inactive

 

US1 seems to have seen a jump in the required Rank points recently too

 

It could be that they did ban some players. At east I hope they did

 

why the ranks suddenly goes up? do fix this

There is a certain % percentage of a rank that exists in a company.So the more players there are in a company,the more people with that rank will exist.But since people quit the game,the % percentage lowers even further so the amount of rank points required for that rank gets raised because the system picks the players with the highest amount of rank points.

 

DO surely did something with the rankings, because several servers have the same issue!

 

I believe they did something please d.o. react on this officially..

 

1 less colonel on us east , atleast for eic and rank for colonel went up like 400k pts because of that, few days ago

 

Maybe they banned some players? Means less players on. means less % of high ranks

 

Basic space pilot is number 1 rank.

 

Ranks go up every day, the only way they would stay put is if nobody played. As players get ship kills, bash gates, or farm npcs their rank points go up. You cannot stop the ranks from going up unless you add more players which will provide a brief drop in required rank points.

 

If I look on home page, I see my pilot ranking (Best pilots) go up. Now on 377th place. However, I recently dropped from Base Major, to Chief Captain.
Base Majors are 2% of company.
Chief captains are 2.5 % of company.
This means roughly 15000 accounts in my company on my server ...

I think the amount of active accounts is dropping like a hammer.
Bots caught, or people leaving. Who knows?
