[SC] Skill designs

I know skill designs are the very last thing you need to buy when you have barely reached full elite status, but i need something to make me feel better -a motivation- for the game.

So, i have a few questions, as i want the best design for me.

1) Generally speaking, what's the best design? (assuming you could equip it withh UFE items)

2) Specifically speaking, which design deals the MOST damage?

3) Is the pusat design worth getting? Some people say its OP, others say it's only OP when you play against noobs.. Personally, i want a maximum damage ship (i play suicide config) as i want to be able to kill kristallons in less than 1 minute and therefore be able to gather enough credits for ships, designs etc from auction. Also, i thought of buying the pusat design bbecause i will be able to deal around the same damage with the goliath, and be able to run away from crazy insta pop hunters.

4) When a design says it gives 5% extra damage, does it mean it applies to ship AND drones damage, or just ship? (i ask this to make sure if the pusat IS the most powerful ship- as far damage is concerned-)

These are my main questions, but if in the process i have more to ask, i will make sure to do so

 

If you watch the maps, you will see that although the skill designs are very coveted, you don't have to wait until you are almost UFE to get them, plus the skill is limited to about twice an hour.

1. I don't see that many skill designs flying any more, especially with the Surgeon out. Unfortunately, it is available normally during special deals although I hear it will be coming with crafting in the future. I have a feeling crafting will be an event and not really a normal thing, but who knows. This will give the most damage overall at 6%, though I am not sure if that is just PVP or PVE also.
2. For PVP there are some others designs that come out for sale from time to time. They are influence designs and give a 7% bonus against other companies only.
3. The pusat is a hit and run ship. You can use it for normal PVE action but must realize that cloaked instant poppers will normally take you out with moth when they see you, as the HP is not that high.
4. 5% damage is for everything, ship and drone laser damage. Any damage goli design is more powerful than the pusat. They just can't keep up with it when it cuts and runs.

I am no Guru so far as the Pusat is concerned but would say that the HP is your major concern when shooting either a BK or a Goli opponent... you would need to be very quick and hit hard unless as you said you were only targeting noobs..

The Surgeon would be nice but currently unavailable and will be Uri expensive (not in Auction)..
I run a Spectrum personally and it does, and has for a while now, done well for me... other ppl with their own ideas will doubtless have other advice... Remember that many 'skill' designs can turn up in Booty ...You mentioned barely FE and then UFE... so dont buy too much as by the time you are UFE you may/will have had the opportunity to collect various designs..
Possibly you should consider Drone formations as an option and/or upgrading your Irises... all depends your style and current stats and/or your future plans..

 

What are the odds to get a design for booty boxes?

Also, what's the maximum hit points a pusat can get? I have all nano tech in bio, and usually use moth formation..

 

The best design is the design that suits your play style and/or what your currently doing. For example, if I am doing a gate, I'm going to put on a 10% EP/Honor design rather than a shield or damage design. And I'm going to put on a Saturn design if I am in a suicide, I'm going to put on a damage design with Hercules design when I'm not using Havocs so I can make up the damage.

Specifically speaking, there is no "best" design. A Diminisher can boost your laser damage to 400k(with a full battle UFE ship) using it's special ability, while the Venom design could deal damage of 5-20k per second(scaled to your current health). A spectrum can take on 3 or 4 enemies with no problem with it's prismatic shielding, while the Sentinel can take more damage to its shields.

The pusat is hands-down a PVP design, no question regarding that. When using the pusat, defense isn't your priority because it's a hit-run-retreat-ship, so if you're in an outfit with 3 or 4 pusats, you each can take turns on damaging the enemy and running, eventually popping him. As a pusat owner, it is worth it if you use it as a second hangar, it's pretty much regarded as a replacement for the vengence ship as a whole rather than just a design.

Damage bonuses apply to laser output in general(meaning the more guns you have on your configuration, the more damage). It will not affect hellstorms or rockets.

 

Very good points.. I guess i will buy the pusat, because it will help me a lot in the 5-3 (easy to get away and able to kill aliens whenever needed) than the goliath. I will however be using goliath in gates or aliens. Most importantly, however, i am gonna buy the pusat because i love speeding D

There was no MHH as I thought - because the value if you buy right now is the same as getting MHH, but alas Surgeon design is not available in shop.

 

But he said this weekend and MHH is supposed to be today?
Also, I wouldn't say the value would stay the same as you're getting thrice the amount of uridium for the purchase which does save you quite a handful of money.
The design IS the bonus for the package afterall.​

 

MHH will be today as normal. You will only get 3 times the uri so nobody get any crazy ideas.

Ah ha, let me clarify. With MHH, you get 3 times the uri, but only one of the other stuff mentioned.

 

The last time they did this sale a RLF bought on MHH and got the entire Bonus as stated don't see why they would change it now!

 

Me neither. But there are people that would automatically think get 3 ship, 3 drone and ship designs, triple the energy and premium.
