  1. Beware of this players post it is a scam and is going to cost you your account if you fill in the information requested.

Remember if you even logged in on the first page you have given enough information to access your game account and they can mess with your equipment even if they can not change the account to their possession.

    You Have Been Warned!!!

I have reported several of the posts as spam as he has posted in almost every active thread.
Thank you for the added post. I was just returning to edit this into my post.

If you by any chance filled data into the spam link, follow these steps IMMEDIATELY:
    • change password (radical changes, no where near similar to the old password!)
    • create new e-mail address (or if you have another existing e-mail), transfer the account to the new e-mail address
Always watch for URL's when opening link. You can notice that on the scam link, the URL does not come from BigPoint, nor DarkOrbit.

  3. I see the threads are starting to be cleaned up so the mods are hard at work removing his postings and all posts quoting them so maybe this is a dead issue for now. However, I hope they keep this open for a future reference point.

    Yeah, noticed the same.
I just hope that no accounts will be scammed :(

  5. Thankfully we've caught the majority through the automated moderation system, this time it managed to sneak through using an old forum account which had already been approved.

The SMOD and Forum teams are working through clearing up the posts, if anyone spots a quoted link we may have missed, please use the report function so we can remove it too.

    ty everyone :)

    Hey @GhostOfJupiter ,

I have quoted some posts, didn't realized that I am doing bad mistake with that. I am sorry. :(
Will look over my recent post and will report if some are left.

    Update:

Checked everything, mods deleted all my posts where I quoted the scam post. Sorry, again.

  7. I was one of the ones caught by this, by not paying attention. I have changed everything with my account, but wanted to say thank you for the swift action by Team Darkorbit and the advice and support from the community.

Including e-mail address, right? If you haven't changed the e-mail, do it now. :)

    Just to add on^^

If you click one of those scam links, please also consider running your antivirus to check for any spyware etc. Some of those links slip malware into your computer just as well as attempting to steal accounts. Make sure your pc is clean because if there's something awful that managed its way onto your system, you may still need to change your passwords again.

I clicked it out of curiosity. I didn't enter my information. Do you think I will need to go through the steps of pc cleaning? That sounds like a lot of work.

  16. Better safe than sorry...

@xuhu99 I definitely think it's worth doing. At the very least knowing if your PC is clear after one of those links may be a relief on it's own. As PSK~SUNDANCE said, better safe than sorry

To add to all the advice if you download malwarebytes ( the free version ) and run a scan this will pick up any pup's and malware and and put them into quarantine as not only is your personal data at risk also your browser can be altered with all sorts of nasty redirects to some very bad web sites and also send pop ups of a very adult nature.
