  1. Guys,

im setting up a youtube account dedicated to catching autlockers on my server. Ive heard stories about corruption in support etc so im asking the community the best way to submit my videos to get players banned for using programmes that give them an advantage.

Is youtube the prefered platform? What excuses will support come up with when i submit videos so i can circumvent? Are they going to tell me fraps is not something they trust etc?

Let me know and thanks in advance.

To BP staff, dont bother replying here im not interested in what you have to say i trust none of you.

  2. Ok i read both posts, thanks for the info still not detered
    (or suprised)

So..The way forward is to break the video down maybe? For expample (this actually happened this morning) i enter my company cube map, cloaked and on speed config to spy on enemy battle station and before i even get there i have a ship on me travelling in the opposite direction with guns blazing.

My point is, if i break down the video and explain what im seeing then surely support cannot turn it away. They can see the player name, and what is happening. I do not agree with having to obtain information such as cheat programme name and website obtained from, i have no interest in such things and im not going to go looking for them, even then, whats to say that IS the correct cheat programme and the correct website?

    2 things...

    1. Yes there are alot of programmes/websites out there, BP should be all over this, Devs know enough to help pass banns.

    2. The facilities to look into an account that has been marked as a possible cheat user should be there and monitoring the account player style.

Thanks for the info so far guys, does anyone else have anything to share from support? Any succesful banns? I will fight this system and will turn this into a campaign if needs be, and i will take it to the DarkOrbit facebook page and all other social media outlets.

Lets keep it clean guys, please dont turn this into a bash thread and get us shut down, keep it factual. For example i said i dont trust support and dont want BP staff input in this thread - fact.

Video demonstrating that how a ship appears located on one screen doesn't mean it is always located in the same position on another screen.

Keep in mind every time you think you are being autolocked - you are dealing with this sort of stuff on the server. That is why generally autolock accusations are completely false.

It is also very easy to do this:
It takes a couple seconds to do and gives a user full vision range to lock people as far as the minimap will let them.

I think any player who is within the top 10% of UFE fighters will find this channel very funny, since they are very used to being called everything and anything in this game, it is no secret that the better someone is at this game the more they are accused.

If you are really concerned about autolock then I suggest you do some research into what exists out there. There is one autolock. It is a custom-flash tool that works along side a bot and allows someone to have autolock however only within the bot window - not their own browser. So they could be circling NPC and see a ship, autolock it then direct their bot to try and chase it down. People aren't using this for every day hunting.

Support might not be the most useful service in the world, they might not know why they say the videos are not good enough proof, but the message they paste is indeed true - videos of players "cheating" in DO isn't good enough proof.
The first video I have posted in this thread is a good enough reason alone as you can see how wildly the positions of a users ship changes, even when both ships were using the exact same internet and browser.

  4. Thanks Okapi,

im quite concerned about that picture you posted, and this is easy to do? Im guessing this is bannable but not detectable?

Don't even bother with video, they can simply reply and say " you fabricated it, added something to it" or another silly excuse that they come up with. There is obviously many auto locking programs out there, and guess what? So are botting programs. If anyone tells you otherwise they are obviolous, we are going back to the 2010 days of when Botters and autos took over, at least of the last few playing. My best suggestion is this: research, learn and actually be kind to the guy that autolocks/bots, because you wanna know the best way dark orbit can fix this? Is by actually providing them with the auto locking/botting program to where they can see it, use it and figure out how it works, then build a system to where it can detect users using it.

It's incredibly easy if you have google chrome, literally a couple of clicks. It's not bannable since it is emulating bigger screen. The same way you can't ban people for buying a 4k resolution monitor and having a significant advantage over someone who had a 1080 screen.

  7. My head hurts.

EDIT: So i watched the video and did research on the screen resolution bug and come to the following conclusion.

.1 I may not be dealing with an autolocker but an opportunist. < To be confirmed.
    .2 Something seriously needs updating.
.3 Players who dont use chrome can be at a serious disadvantage.

Now i see why support is'nt more elaborate when telling people video is not enough, and this is exactly why i didnt want DO staff involved in this thread. Thank you Okapi, once again its the community that gives the answers.

1 new concern, i happily accept that i may be wrong and due to being educated i understand there are more things to be considered before coming to conclusions however...

I was locked on and being shot pretty much off screen, thing is i was cloaked so i wasnt visible if the player was using the screen bug and the minimap would be too small to comprehend red dots. If i was uncloaked i'd end this here, however i would not have been on the bugged screen if thats what he was using, unless he made the minimap bigger.

    My head hurts some more.

  8. With this photo theres a diffrence between autolocking and locking someone off they edge of (your) screen

SO say for instance you are in crazy cube and someone flys in and locks you instantly in crazy cube in the middle of prots,
they this Pearson switches lock to someones else cloaked next to you and then switches to someone else and so on

This is only a example but i think you can get the point

Eh never mind, even mods would rather have you be in the dark on the situation of DO servers and let you think you are being autolocked and shot by people half way across the map than allow a video demonstrating why so many people think other users are using autolock when the other user has no control over it.

  10. Why am i not suprised...There was actually some light at the end of the tunnel, then DO staff took a dump all over it.

Thanks again for your time Okapi.

    Hi all,

I have removed the earlier posts that weren't particularly helpful in the thread and were just bashing support replies in general. I have also returned the video to Okapi's post with a small description above it of what it is. I'm sure you are both aware of the forum guidelines on videos, therefore we do not want to set a precedent by allowing certain videos but not others. However in this case i do feel the video does quite a lot of talking in itself and does help explain what may contribute to certain scenarios.

With regards to chrome and the various ways to change the client resolution, this is something that has been reported to the developers to be looked at. Hopefully there will be a resolution to the obvious method of changing the resolution (using the zoom feature), however the developers can only do so much with the tools they have. Sometimes the developers are unable to do anything since it is something caused by the browser, for example chrome users may find that they disconnect much quickly when inactive compared to other browsers. This is down to how Chrome handles inactive tabs and the socket information sent by the game, and so the developers can't fix an issue that lies within the browser.

    Best,

    ~Ddraig

  12. lol, dont get me started on that disconnect. But the resolution in game is something I have mentioned to players before. I like Okapi's demo of it being zoomed out. When I first played, I thought I was being auto locked, as the term was passed around chat a lot but then I realized, not everyone has the same monitor I have and can see the resolution difference when playing on my laptop, which I hate, and my tablet, which I love. I can see much more on my tablet, and use the same browser on both.

  13. Ddraig,

close this thread, you've already butchered it anyways. I will take my concerns elsewhere online away from mods that obviously have something to hide. Goes to show answers from support are that bad you feel the need to delete them from this thread.

Like i said, i dont trust any of you.
