[SC] Variance in ship kills to Ranking System

Hi all

To cut a long story short for this question, we had some banter on TS about % of golis to ship kills so I went to check the true % (Cause my egg popping days back when enemy x1 maps were not protected i was getting peeps taking the mick!) I noticed my ship total did not equate to the same value on the ship kills ranking page.



(Tried to put the pic into the forum but couldn't get it to work sorry)

as you can see there's a huge disconnect from what my ranking system gives me verses my ship kills, So i asked a couple of guys on TS to also share there info (i also asked if it was ok to share on the forums to) they also have a variance.

Does anyone know why this is?

Could this be pets?

I checked mine and my ship kills were out by 22.7%
My alien kills were also inflated but only by 2%

 

Could darkorbit be counting clan war kills. Friendly kills are not from war but the extra ship kills you gained might be the war tag kills

 

hi chrome, I never thought to check the Alien kills, is the 2% a low number due to the size of the overall total of npc kills? what was the total value bud? as 2% out 20,000,000,000 is still a huge amount.


And Feed me big boy i also thought this but i defiatly have killed more 1k of warring vru in my playing time.

Does TA count?

 

The number itself was out by much more for the alien kills, a few thousand, but because I only have about 1000 rank ship kills and the leaderboard ship kills shows around 1,200 its a much smaller %.

By the way I noticed your variance % is a bit less that it should be because you divided by the bigger number instead of the smaller number it increased from.

If i recall correctly, i did have a private chat with you about this and i am slowly making progress towards hopefully getting an answer. As it stands, Quality Assurance has referred this onto the developers as a potential issue to investigate, as they were unable to explain the difference in numbers.

Therefore at the moment it is just a waiting game for feedback from the devs on the issue, however i will be sure to inform you once i have received one.

Pets count as ship kills for the rankings.

 

you have less kills in ranking compared to top ship kills because of when the ranking system changed kills after that day count towards rank, and not before.
