[SC] Worst event in DO history?

Is Cold Day in Hell the worst event in DO history?

The Glacial Fissure event is Awesome.
No matter if you buy boosters or not.

Ufonits and UFOs give amazing drops even if you do not get proxium.

I have done loads of gates. Probably 40+

Gained about 500k RSB ammo
Still got left about 100k of each launcher rocket types
200 EMPs
Lots of normal uri priced rockets

And whatever it costs to build the gate. you get back while doing it.

Plus I went for 35 ULF4s
And got masses of Booty Keys. that gave me around 25 more LF4s

Plus a lot of free spins like 5000

So whoever says this event is BAD?????!!!!!! REALLY

Look at the facts. I got second full ship of guns. and masses of premium gear.

There are different point-of-views regarding this Permafrost Event with respect to the quality of account a player has.

Most UFEs but not all (paying/non-paying for prox booster.prox doubler) will find this gate easy as they can deal great damage and finish the gate on lesser time and with lesser ammos spent thus they could enjoy the ammo drops of UFO/Ufonit and can easily spam the gate for the assembly items (keys, EE, RSB). Most will find the Ulf4 useless as they have full LF4 which is better and since its been transferred to tier 2 from tier 4 replacing the RSB which now lowers the RSB they could craft.

On the other hand FE+ and FEs (paying/non-paying for prox booster.prox doubler) can either find this gate profitable or not as depending on their account strength, ammo/seprom spent, time spent, and on the low proxium drop rate (some don't buy booster so they depend on the free 1 hr booster). These players can mainly finish the gate but with higher time and greater ammo/seprom spent than the UFEs and with the low proxium drop rate, the possibility of getting none for the whole gate (even with the free/paid booster) aggravate their frustration with this event.

Lastly, the Newbies/Noobs will find this gate nearly impossible as first as they would need either 21k uri (which might take them some time to get) or craft the fragments + 1k uri + 1hr or waiting for assembly to be done (cost resources which are rare and hard for them to obtain). The first map is not even Newbie-friendly as it contains uber/boss devolariums, a saboteur, and a lordakium wherein newbies would deal much time, much ammo, and could either end up being killed by those NPCs or by swarm of them when the Saboteur slowed them down. Really this gate is not recommended for those all Newbies with weak accounts.

All in all, the decision whether this event or other events is the worst event to be is base on the player himself/herself and should not reflect all players as each one has its own gaming style, account build, and satisfaction level but of course in time the majority will speak and thus will truly reflect the quality of this event.

I just want to say. I was just FE when started this gate. Now I am UFE. And whoever says ULF4 is worse??? Is completely wrong.

The difference in average damage is 1 point. ULF4 174 and LF4 175 damage.


Is this really bad.

So. Now I got 2 ships full of 35 LF4 and 35 ULF4. And can tell you one thing. With both I killed people with the same success. Done gates. Done missions and everything else.

ULF-4 If you can get it. Get it. It is as good as LF-4.

UFEs do not need it. But if you are FE. You must get it.

I had 7 LF4 when event started. Now got 35 of each type. How can event be bad. When it gives both. Masses of booty keys and ULF4s

From FE to UFE in less than a month with no money spent. It's just amazing. Just grind a lot and you will be strong.

 

Great event for FEs, superb for UFEs before change, after change still good for ufes. For players who just started the game (new to darkorbit) this event is not good but I don't think they were the target group in the first place. As I understand the target group was FE players who benefit from this event a lot since the prox costs were changed. In general I would put this event in top5 events all time.

 

Infiltration. I don't know of anyone that goes out there way to hunt down cloaked npcs. Not even sure of the rewards if any?
Team Deathmatch. Again, don't know anyone that plays TDM (at least on GB1)

 

Yes, infiltration is a real stinker, I was thinking more of special events rather than the weekly ones though. But you bring up good points, mainly that these are outdated, never popular, and neeeding to be replaced.
I personally liked Scoremagedon, since I wasn't one of the noobs getting slaughtered for 3 hours.

 

the development team need to make more new fun exciting events they shy away from this or dont have any sort of imagination and u can clearly c it in gameplay

 

Ok I tried to do the gate yesterday together with the 1hr free drop chance boster from the previous gate, then within an hour, by using venom, x4, sep laser/rockets, ubr hellstorm, 3030 rocket with precision targetr, dmg booster 1, and moth fomation (no havoc, dmg booster 2, pve pilot bio) I managed to reach up to map 6 and until the Ufonit within it. I managed to get evry ufonit to drop proxium so I got 6 ufonits *7 proxiums = 42 proxiums and I'm very happy, then after the free booster went out, I went to basic ammo (x1, 2021, hellstorm 1) and finished to gate this morning though I din't got any proxiums from map 6 (UFO) to map 10. I then create another gate and with the free booster I did again the gate with same setup above up to map 6 (ufonit) but unfortunately I didn't got any proxium and all the ufonits gave sar 02 and hellstorm 1 and now I'm frustrated. I'm an FE + and I can't tell if this is the worst as it was all based on chance just like other events and GG rewards.
