  1. As a player of the original Dark Orbit from when it was first released, I have noticed an ever increasing pattern within almost all of Bigpoint's games.
Ironically, it is not the fact that Bigpoint going corporate has caused a massive amount of greed within the company and its games. It is not the fact that Uridium Wars or Dark Orbit or Farmeria or even Seafight have had an ever increasing botting problem within the game.
All of the above are just symptoms of what Bigpoint's true flaw has been for over 3 years. It is something no company, let alone corporation, should ever have as a Achilles heal, yet Bigpoint has gotten away with it for years. It is normally tragic for most corporations, causing either bankruptcy or lawsuit.
Bigpoint is unique in the situation because of its unique position of business, but as we can see, this flaw is catching up to them fairly rapidly. What exactly is it that has Bigpoint falling so far down the rabbit hole? How is it great games such as Dark Orbit, or Uridium Wars or Battlestar Galactica can sink so low when their story line and idea behind the series be such gold?
The answer to that question is: Bigpoint just doesn't care about their customers
It has been a long progression in Dark Orbit and Uridium Wars for me to realize just how true the above statement is. In reality, however, it was not nearly always that way.
Back in the start of the game, before everything could instant pop your ship in Dark Orbit, back before the LF4 and the 10 drones and even before the new client, balance was achieved in game for one reason: bigpoint took every precaution to acknowledge what the players wanted. It was well balanced gaming environment that truly re-defined the world of space MMO games.
So what happened to that world? Why would Bigpoint make it seem as though it intended to shift the balance of the game and make it fall off a cliff? I have one word to answer that question: Investors. As of late 2011, two top investment companies, whose addresses I have included below for reference, took complete control over the Bigpoint's stocks and thus its direction.
From that point on, because these investment companies were only interested in how much money they could suck up from Bigpoint instead of offering the top nonce customer service originally offered from the original Bigpoint, the path for the corporation was deviated beyond repair. Or, at least we thought it was.
Do you think there is still hope for the game we all know and love? Do you believe your voice can still ring out above all of the corporate leaders' and say "I demand action!"? Or do you think Bigpoint is only a disease to be purged from the world. An infliction no one in the world should suffer from any longer? we can provide you a resolution to these problems.
I hope you, the players, will take it upon yourselves to persuade Bigpoint to change their mind about the game They need to be told that, though they own the games and the company, Uridium Wars, Seafight, Dark Orbit or any of their other games are absolutely nothing without us the players.

  2. Tbh most of the people left playing DO know the truth. Some even foreseen the truth (they bailed early) and the remaining can absolutely handle the truth. (lol we still give them money) Most of us still hang on to a diminishing threads of hope that the game would some day
get at least some of it's former glory back. I personally still hang around just to see how it's all gonna end. The truth is the game has been suffering a slow death for many years. The only question left is. Will the game go down in a Blaze of Glory or will it go out in a poof of smoke.

I think you summed it up best. As long as corporate interest are involved the game is doomed to fail. IF you look at the state of the game today. The changes that have been made are still cloaked in the same kind of reckless behavior that got us here in the first place. The only way that our voice could be heard was if we would all stop spending:rolleyes:

add a long term main investor and we'll get back on trails, mostly because he will tell bp to even things, obviously some packs won't go away, and obviously some items won't disappear either, but many cancerous systems (PB-UP-TF) will finally be purged to a more logical way, however bp was handed to chinese execs...

still, it's better than being handed down to vivendi, take a look at gameloft and how badly they are getting rekt by vivendi.

and to a note, no, i don't have any hope this game will get better, it's bigpoint, not actilizzard, it won't try to get rid of the parasite (youzu) that is draining the precious life energy it needs to survive, best we see how much time it will take for darkorbit to have the plug pulled and then jump onto the pservers that will pop after the original server dies, take a look at Shards of War forxample...

however, when it will die? only god knows...
