GB1 is quite dead now and still losing members within. it would be more beneficial for everyone if they was to create a server merge (GB1 and GB2) and create a fresh new GB2. As there would be many more players it would be highly beneficial to add more maps into the solar system, This would benefit both of us bigpoint and the players within. Lets be honest there are more and more players leaving the game because it's getting more and more boring logging on and doing the same thing everyday where as if you was to merge there would be more competition between clan's/companies etc. and the game would be 10 times better due to dark orbit will be back like the good old days. I've been a player of this game since 2009 and have watched it slowly get less and less popular but.. if you was to merge servers to create more competition pull more of the old players back and make a fresh server to give new people chance to be that number 1.

This time it will be the same, no need to open threads when you know the answer from start.

 

The answer will be whatever the community wants. The issue is players pretending to know how Darkorbit is always going to be negative in everything.

I agree, dead servers need to be merged.

 

forgive me ... but I think this has been suggested before... for many reasons it needs so much support that I dont think it would/could ever happen...

competition between Co and clans is good but until the UFEs are curbed from shooting noobs and the MultiCo clans are stopped... all your suggestion makes is more 'cannon-fodder'

I agree with Luke, the answer lies in what everyone wants. A server merge is a fantastic idea and should be brought into consideration. It would really spice up the game for those servers which are not looking so active right now. New competition would be created as well as new rivalry and i believe that many old players (including myself) would come back to the game

 

Well there's already other threads on this topic to start, DO already said no, and its a bad idea.

 

What game do you two play? Don't you know DO does what it wants and players are just cash cows to be milked? It took three years to deal with community concerns over botters, and botters were stealing from them. They know some people want servers merged and some don't. They have made it plain many times they side with those who don't want merges. Saying the community wants it only works in a democracy, sometimes, but not here.

And people who say they want servers merged, which ones? All of them? Just a few from each country? Regionally? It's all good saying 'merge servers' yet not state which server you actually want merged with which is kinda dumb.

Lets say you just want to merge them by country, lets use the USA East servers as an example. You have three servers there labeled USA East, followed by numbers 1, 2 and 3. Your server seems dead and you want more players so DO decides to merge they three servers into one. Great, it's done. But what about the guy who built three ships on those three servers, got them all UFE, and now finds that he wasted time, money and energy on two complete ships, because he only needs one for your new and improved server? What does that guy do? What would you do?

Now that scenario is kinda far fetched, but it is plausible. So what about the guy who played East 1 for a year, made a few nasty enemies in the game and left to play on a different server? He ditched a decent ship with a couple hundred bucks in it and started clean, and spent two years building a new account on a server populated by people he can play with and have fun. Then he logs in one day and boom, welcome back Kotter in a bad way. What should that guy do? What would you do?

That's two scenarios of many that are in this game. Most people either have never considered those, or, and I'm sure, there are those who just don't care. Either way, DO has considered those scenarios and we're where we are today.

Server merges are NOT the magical cure all and fix Dark Orbit pill. I'm sure such a pill/fix exists, but it's not server merges so stop with the spam please.

I think a merge of these 2 posts.. I know one is mine , but as has been said.. there is no "magical cure all and fix Dark Orbit pill"
and what needs to happen is to re-invigour the servers we have...
