Shotgun laser (SG-01)

    My idea is to have a laser that spreads its shots like a shotgun. Stats are:

    SG-01:
    Damage: 75/hit
    Shots fired: 3
    Price: 1,000,000 creds
    Accuracy (Chance that spread will hit other targets): 50%
    Friendly fire chance: 5%

    SG-02
    Damage: 100/hit
    Shots fired: 4
    Price: 150,000 uri
    Accuracy: 75%
    Friendly fire chance: 3%

    How it works is when you lock onto an enemy the shots spread and hit other enemies, but can also hit friendlies. Also you can choose what enemies the lasers should prioritize so if you're a noob you don't accidentally make a BK angry. Maybe the stats need to be changed but what do you think?

    a noob buys a weapon for 150k uri?

    Seems pretty good. Lower the Accuracy of the SG-01, though.
     
  3. sounds like a good idea!

    Not for a laser, but they have something like that available for rockets like the Hellstorm rocket launcher, but it does lock onto just 1 pilot. Another thing available is Chain impulse from the tech center but i don't know who uses it lol.

    Shotgun effect sounds good. What if it was an Area Effect explosion instead of a laser? With a visual effect like a "fire crackle firework"? When activated it would be like a smartbomb, but be like sporatic explosions around the deployed area. Would be fun :)

    If not, sorry for getting off route. good idea thought, love it :D
     
  4. I like it, but it should have 25% the range compared to lasers.
    This isn't Battlefield 3, you can't kill people at long range ;)
     
  5. Nice idea, would this be equipped in the weapon slot or have a complete different bunch of slots like Rocket launcher and single rockets?
     
  6. good idea , but 150 000 is so much ! u want to say 15 000. :)) , but good idea WE NEED NEW WEAPONS !

    It's a really good idea in my opinion. I just have some questions regarding ammo. Would the laser use the same ammo as the current lasers or would there be a special ammo for the SG-01 and SG 02? Also would we need a special CPU to be able to run these shotgun type laser cannons? Just a couple of curious questions.

    Another question: What would be the ROF (Rate of fire) of both? Obviously, since they are shotguns, it should be a longer time.

    The SG-0X shotgun basically already has AOE damage. It's a good idea, yes, but I think shotguns would be better.

    The reload time would be long, and the same ammo as usual can be used.

    I think this should get some separate slots on ship and separate tabs in-game cause you expect someone to go around shooting 4 burst-shot rounds every 1/2 mins ONLY? Also, lasers have no reload time except x6, which is very little. I think 5-10 slots

    Also, the damage is pretty low for a shotgun. Real shotguns deal a lot of damage in one shot. I think the damage should be 150-200/shot for the cred one and 400-500/shot for the uri one with a reload time between 1/2-2 min and reload time cannot be changed.

    I can see my idea would be pretty OP even with the restrictions. Maybe damage boosts have no effect on shotguns? And sep/prom also have no effect. And pp can't change accuracy?
     
  13. I would say high damage but toggle only, and you can only have one, and retain the 150k price for the 1. I likey :S

    Yeah, toggle would be how the separate slots would work. No auto-fire cpu here.
