3 security questions wouldn't be too hard for the average player (1-3 accounts) it would still bug the hell out of me tho (6 active accounts, 2 mod accounts and an IP that changes EVERY time I turn my computer on). Not a bad suggestion if IP is going to be recorded and maybe more secure than email verification anyway especially as emails can be compromised as well.

I have to admit I hadn't considered people travelling to other countries for business/tourism or members of the armed forces who can be deployed anywhere in the world so maybe GEOIP could still be a trigger factor but it becomes a 1 time verification and when you return home you verify again. 3 personal questions would be faster than email verification.

    Regards

  2. Unless it pulls an Apple and gives you questions you never answered before and you never get access again.

  3. Lmao that actually did happen to me with apple

I contacted their support and they let me reset them pretty easily (just in case you have this problem)

To be honest if it is hard work then even just one security question would be more secure than it is now and shouldn't be that hard to implement.

Or even an "option" to have one, two or three (NOT zero) security questions on your account so people that like to be more secure can have more questions to answer than people who log in to many accounts from different IPs in one day.

  4. i did... and it happened again lmao, which is why i brought it up :p but i suspect DO would be easier as you can email them and not be forced to either call or post in a forum

  5. IP addresses change, so this would not work.

  6. True, a lot of people use IP changers.

  7. I forgot to mention.. I also have dynamic ip.. and if there will be 3 questions .. I have 5 active accounts .. by active I mean that I play regularly .so no..

  8. It's not even that. The IPv4 protocol, by nature, allows for dynamic IP addresses. Here in the UK, if you want a static IP, you've got to pay extra per month to your ISP.

I believe, however, that the case may be the opposite in other countries.

  9. I never heard of that in the US we just have a lot of people who get IP changers because they want it or because they use cheats on games like CoD or GTA.

  10. no ..its the same in US.. u have to pay to change to a static ip.. well if u have COX u do..

  11. Never said it wasn't in the US, i just never heard of it, i just talk to people who have an IP Changer.

  12. Suppose you change your internetprovider. Then your ip will change too I think. What will happen then ?

  13. I travel all around the world. I dont like this idea

  14. Terrible Idea bud.

Situation 1.The player uses a computer desktop or laptop and moves alot...The IP changes every time they change internet because each router assigns its guests with a different address.

Situation 2.Someone was using an email through phone company or something similar like ATT and they no longer have access to that email because ATT has locked it because of late payment or early cut off.

    See how this is bad?

  15. Got to cast a no vote from this side of the table.

  16. If you no longer have access to the e-mail address associated with your account, then you are in very deep trouble.

It's required to identify who you are when changing your password, email, or when contacting support. You must never lose access to your email account, which is why you should never use accounts that can be lost - like the ones supplied by an ISP or mobile provider. ALWAYS use a site like GMail or Yahoo Mail.

Don't even think about using an e-mail on a domain you own, either. That's a bad idea, too.

  17. I gave an example, many other ways an email can be closed or lost due to issues.Point is this is a bad idea.
