Should we be allowed to Name and Shame?

In conjunction with this thread:
Please deal with the auto-locking thread

Do you feel the community deserves the right to be
able to "Name and Shame" in some way to expose the
blatant cheats that are still ruining the game ?

(its very frustrating that there is a protocol in chat and on the forums that protects users
from being exposed, but there are no protocols in place to protect the victims from cheats)

I personally would like to see a sticky thread where competent users
were able to upload there Speed test along with Video Proof
exposing people and showing others whats really going on.
(The thread would be watched by the Mod an Dev team
and after investigation, appropriate action taken)

Reason for this poll.

I have 128mb Broadband with a Ping of 3ms
My FPS is always 54-63 FPS
I do NOT suffer from Lag.
I was just auto-locked in 4-4
(by the same users/cheats)
Mini Map stopped working
(Sure sign you have been auto-locked)
Used lightning ability to escape
(fully prommed,its the fastest ship in the game)

But
Was out run by the user who was using a Goli

Hinted in chat how unfair it was
and of course, i got kicked from chat.

Sadly i feel support are not equipped to deal with these kind problems.

great idea but will never happen.we all know who they r ,so do cms and support.they just dont care if truth is told.

 

There's nothing that stops you from posting video's of cheating but posting websites where you can purchase or look into cheats and accusing and naming cheats is against the rule's.

 

Im new to all these theories about cms and support knowing etc.
Even heard a rumour that one of the Devs that creates
these cheats is in one of the top clans on GB1

I wouldn't do that unless there was an official thread that had the
backing of support, u hear so many story's of some of the cheats being friends
or family of some of the mods etc .. there's no way I would risk my account!

(Had an innocent account terminated back in 2009 after
disagreeing with 1 of these Known players on Team Speak)​

 

Well those aren't just stories lol, support would never back such a thread.

 

If that's true, then i guess nothing's changed since 2009 .. very sad ​

 

I agree Elite force i have the same problem and as soon as you hint it you get kicked. Some "players" some how can lock you even if you jump a few seconds before them.

 

Would love a thread to name and shame players with evidence , but I cant see it happening cheats always defend cheats even inchat you can see whats going on 1 rule for 1 player another rule for the honest player.

I rather have a server with 10 players on than 50 cheats on but that aint going to happen cause BP would lose money if they got rid of cheats and that's a fact.

its the first time i have seen some one else mention it but it has happened twice to me this week on GB1 - mini map stops working, can't click anywhere on it, then i jump port and game freezes, get back on and i'm dead.

i'm sure you could have a guess which clan i was fighting at the time

I know as much as you do ..
I just keep a keep a Txt document on my desktop
soon as I get auto-locked + mini map freezes i jot
down the players name ..

Its not long before you have a long list of the same
names who are all pretty much from the same clan

(the same clan where its rumored that the actual creator
of these illegal scripts has his own ship an is supplying everyone else)​

on topic, a name and shame by the players would not be a very good idea, 100% of UFE'S would end up on the list at some point as i think every UFE that hunts a lot gets accused of using auto lock or hacks at some point in global chat. i get accused a few times a week, it annoyed me to begin with but there is little point arguing back, it's impossible to prove you play legit and its just as impossible to prove some one cheats. we will just have to hope DO catches up with them once and for all.

i do think a name and shame from DO themselves would be a great idea, anyone that has been staged or banned gets on the list. think this has been mentioned before though and its not legally possible

 

The problem is some people just might abuse this , for instance i was killed a cheat for no reason just caused i poped the guy. Now if we all do start to do this will be a mess and is one of the reasons dark orbit wants to deal with them in more desecrate way.

I hear what your saying, but thats why i said competent users!

Yes sorry for the wrong spelling i just didnt see lol. Having said that i mean i hear people complain about cheats all the time and most of the cases lets face it without any good reason just because they get poped. As far as i am concerned now after the ban wave DO did i havnt had any weird experience with autolock . I just know 1-2 players that can lock me very fast while cloaked but i dont think they are cheaters just good lockers ,but every1 calls them a cheat and i dont .
So if we shame them for no good reason its not nice since they spend loads of money on this game and that is it i think. without proof its not a good idea to name people because its a pure prejudice and will promote more complains
