After completing Shield Mechanics is Evasive Maneuvers II worth the investment of the 3 points, or are they better spent elsewhere on the tree for a functional benefit?

  2. Hello mongoose

Its a good defensive skill and gives you 12% boost as it reduces enemy attacks.
But it all depends on your playing style and how much pilot points you have currently and in what skills you have invested those pilot points.

Do you (the original poster) have any further questions or can we close?

Well I have no "style" except to try and win the game. I have used 17 of 20 points available in building the shield defense. Awaiting seprom production (5000) to finish the Mechanics portion of that defense. 5 of 5 in Mechanics. And am wondering where the next best functional benefit lies in that tree. So I would ask what you would do in that position. I have the first 3 gates built, and have not tried them yet. I felt it was best to get that shield built up first, along with the ammo the Materialiser provides before going in to that. I have picked up that I should get Kami gear for Pet before going in there also. Am not interested in fat lasers, red rockets, or cool looking things, etc. Only interested in functional things that work to protect ship and kill enemies. I am already an expert in getting killed.

  4. if you are going to shoot npcs most of time them don't put 3 pp on evasive maneuvers II that dont hellp whit npcs much. beter put on electro-optics. 5/5 that give 100% hit ratio on npcs.

Thank you Boogeyman! That certainly seems a better use of the points for disposing of Aliens. Is there a scenario for disposing of Player Enemies also? As they clearly have the advantage in disposing of me at will. I have Level 3 lasers upgraded to 5. That is apparently worth 0 in this game. Shields are B02 also upgraded to 5. That seems to help me last a second or two longer before being blown up.

  6. first of all you need to upgrade drones to lvl 16 (iris-apis-zeus) not flax that cost way to much. if you can spare a litle credits or uri buy shield booster from trade or shop and use them too, that hellps a lot, use ish on port if caple strong ships shoot. watch mini map all the time and if you see red dot coming fast it is enemy for sure hehe.
have cloak and emp on your keys and cloak emp fast if someone shoot on you that will save you many times. oh yea have always one config full shields on drones and full speed on ship. slow mines... etc... there are many ways to screw hunters and run from them :) i hope some of this will hellp you.

I am beginning to see what you mean. It is more of a combonation of factors to improve your kill and evasive techniques against both aliens and players. Now back to the Electro Optics. Your saying that against the Aliens your lasers improve to 100% even though the chart indicates only a 12% increase. How about against players? Does it improve against them? I take it that it does not move to a 100%. And would it not follow that based on this, that Evasive Manuevers II would not give an additional edge of both enemies missing at a 24% increase. Add to this the additional boosters and seprom I can begin to see why I get blown away almost every chance they take. A never ending battle as it were.

  8. it do improve against players too but not to 100% ratio like whit npcs. there is xeno cpu for more accuracy against players.
npcs don't miss, some times they skip a hit but it is more likely to lag, you will never see miss when npc hits you.

OK, so you are saying that I should stay with Electro Optics 5/5. That I do not need to bother with the Evasive Maneuvers II 3/3. The the best functional investment of the points at this stage for me is Electro Optics 5/5. Do I understand you correctly?

Poseidons Fury, are you in agreement with Boogeyman's advice? I have 2 extra points available after completing Mechanics 5/5 later today. I will have to buy the remaining 3 points for Electro Optics 5/5. Which is OK as long as it is the best functional benefit. Thanks in advance for both of you trying to help me out here. You all are the best.

  11. Hello mongoose

Thank you BØØGΞYMΔИ for assisting with this thread.

Electro optics is a good skill but you can alternatively put 3 point in there and go with Alien Hunter as it increases damage on NPC's.

Do you (the original poster) have any further questions or can we close?

  12. sure alien hunter is super good i have it. but to put points there he need additional 4 points. 2 on cruelty I and 2 on rocket fusion.
trust me on this mongoose first 5 pp on electro optics later points on evasiv manuvers II. EM2 is mostly for pvp part of game and you need to make more uri to gain more stranght and electro optics will hellp you 10 times more than EM2.

Well Boogeyman you won me over. Your logic seems indisputable. I appreciate both of you taking the time to help. I will go with the Optics first. Boogeyman perhaps you can view my profile at some point and offer your advice on configuration possibilities. Thanks again guy's for the assistance. Poseidon this thread may be closed. PS Just got my 5000 Seprom and completed Mechanics 5/5. Now waiting for additional Seprom to begin Optics.
