Something New

So yeah, I kinda talked to a CM about this once and they thought it would be a cool idea... but really I am posting this to be laughed at because of the chances of this actually being put to use ...is like less than 0%

Well I have heard as well as thought of myself that we need something new to the game, no one wants any new lasers or shields ... a few people i know at least say they would like for a bit more diversity in the (Dark)orbit. I would like to see something similar to the PET10 Contest that was held late last year (like Nov.2013 or something i dont remember)

To the point... We the players suggest a design (color and design and all that jazz) for i would say the goliath ...but it does have a bunch of designs already and some other ships could use it ...but anyway for the goliath we make a design and then people vote and whoever wins that design is implemented into the game.

In addition to the winning design being made, the player that suggested it should be either given the suggested design for free or given the choice of a design or given some uridium or something. Maybe the design could be 250k uri like most skill designs so the player gets 250k uri or choice of an equivalent priced design.

We actually had something like this a LONG time ago. They had a contest to make and design a ship. The winning ship never got into the game for whatever reason. But I agree, they should start including the community more. With the new forums, more people than even are starting to use the forums, allowing for more diversity. People would be happier with the game, if they knew that they were checking the forums and involving us more into the development of the game.

 

The mods on other forums do community events once in a while, one language recently did a signature contest with 30 winners where they could choose a reward of either any design (saturn included), 250k uri, 1 drone design or 1 lv16 lf4.

Now whilst we have done contests in the past the rewards weren't quite that and the winners were extremely questionable, it's a shame that the mods picked each other as two of the winners.

If other teams can do it properly without corruption then I don't see why ours can't do it too, would be quite nice to make people actually feel involved in something.
