Fix the gate already. A waste of ammo, especially on the last 4 waves in Map 8. Killed due to lag, once again.

 

Sounds like normal routine D O advertises one thing and gives us something else and when we complain about it they ignore us. FREE Gates need to deliver what is advertised or they are not worth doing.

 

I did the uber sks and the bk wave (last wave on MAP 5). 20 uber sks take too much time to kill so I just was flying around and use kami to kill them. I marked one to have a look at the hp of the sks, I shot him a little, but havent fired a singe shot to the others, just used kami even when they were in the corner. At the end, I didnt get ANY rewards for killing the other 19 UBER SKS! I dont care about honor and exp, but 19x128 uri = 2432 uri! I even died once doing that because of lag. Here is what my logbook says:

In most of gate it happens..sorry it is setup tht way..last time i asked similar question i was told those kills go to PET ...It doesnt make sense..PET is part of ship.

Anyway what i do is use heavy shields and sit there and pop them using ring formation

If you're using kamikaze to destroy the NPCs it is quite possible you will not reap the rewards. This is something that has gone on, particularly with gates, for years. It is not limited to the ToT gate.

The dev team are revisiting the lives on the gate, namely due to the lag issues experienced on the larger servers from the sounds of things. However again, this is not something experienced by everyone or necessarily every server. Blaming the ToT for lag while it's a server issue itself, particularly those experiencing for weeks before the ToT began, I would think shows these two things do not necessarily, wholly, go hand in hand.

When we have more news on anymore changes we'll follow up. The event isn't over year, so if you have fun with the gate, by all means you have plenty more time to hit it up again and again.

Solid_Eye well what is taking so long to fix the lag issues. This is something - the lag - that actually started after Assembly was released. Then the lags were fixed and kept coming back and then fixed and so on. It's been a month now when the lagging started again and the servers are fine until it's 6 pm when it starts lagging.

People are just really mad at Darkorbit currently due to lagging. It's been 1 month, yet Darkorbit adds event like ToT and keep adding small events such as Crazy Cubikon. In my opinion, you only lose time, effort and ammunition if you go to ToT. They also add some crappy missions which aren't the worth of time. Now at the moment, I had to relog everytime I use Kamikaze because I can't use the PET if I don't.
Also as many have stated, Darkorbit should not say that the ToT has come back as it is, because it definitely isn't.
I'm particularly talking about Global Europe 1.

 

The ToT has come back just as it was - there are just different issues than last year. They had to fix the ammo drops & cooldown again yes, but the gate is the same. It's not like they've swapped out NPCs or waves

The halloween event is something that was asked to be repeated before it even ended last year, there was no way there wasn't going to be any event run for halloween this year. Whatever happens, I would still expect the winter December events to go on as they usually would to - give or take whatever is in store for Y10.

The lag is a multitude of things, between whatever they have to do with the server/game itself, that GE1 has such a high population, and the DDoS attacks we saw earlier this year. I'm not aware of any currently though they do keep at it now & again, and I think there was something in that nature a few weeks ago.

So why the issue has been so prevalent the last few weeks I couldn't really say. Like I said before, I'm pretty sure there's been some fixes implemented to help but thus far it doesn't seem to have resolved it. The dev team has to keep working to sort out whatever it is so people can get back to enjoying the game.

just my take on it, but it's not entirely great to just trash on the ToT when there's issues beyond it which are ultimately influencing the frustration imo. Yes there's issues this year that weren't last year, but for something that was so highly lauded last year and all through this year as something other events had to live up to, well imo the gate isn't to blame and I don't know I necessarily would place it on the event itself either.

Okay, thanks for the quick answer once again. Last thing is, why Support can't give lives back to you? ("You have plenty of more chances to finish the gate", says Support. No, no you haven't if the lag issues aren't going to be fixed anytime soon. E.g. Everyday ToT goes more to the timeline where lagging starts so therefore, you are unable to finish the gate.

And, yes I understood what you said before, but this thing is something, I'm also frustrated about.

 

I think they can't because the nature of the gate is that if you should lose all your lives, you have another shot at it as the gate is back 20 hours later. If there's resets on it that would void the premise a bit.

Also because they have limits on how many resets they can do in a set period of time - so there can be some added frustration if one person can have the gate reset but another cannot because support still have to follow the rules handed down to them

you could always try a new browser make sure youtube is not on use 2D mode and change your webpage size i lag now and then but i shrink my screen a bit .... cos the way i see it more on your screen the more you lag u shrink those items less info to process

 

Protocol, I don't play on 3D because it sucks and all the NPCs looks freaking awful. I've tried various different browsers each time I've died. I don't have Youtube on because I listen to music on my Phone. Not really about that Screen size. For me whether it's -50% or 50% the lag - If it's lagging at that time - is the same. So for me, the screen size doesn't affect anything.
Trust me, it's not me, it's GE1 that is lagging and BP knows this.

Oh and I play when settings are low, because it's the way I've always played this game.

I totally agree with you, BP know very well GE1 is lagging, at the evening they're doing something that destroyes this whole server..
If you fly at GE1 now you'll see barely people and if you want to kill an aliens it'll take you 10 minutes..

This server is going to die if they won't do anything about it! We can't even enjoy the halloween event!

 

yeah was just an idea from my side i do see where you're coming from loads coming from GB servers and other servers to the US servers so a lot more traffic the new single map will fix that but thats still months away as with the bot problem its a little to late just sorry your having a hard time now

 

Yeah, no problem and I'm not the only one. For now, I just have to wait for the fix and that could take for very long time and I just have to stick with this.
