The test server went open just before the twitch stream earlier to continue testing the assembly feature. Changes during the customization test on Monday/Tuesday are now lost behind us.

Please keep in mind that the nature of the test server means that changes may need to be made, rolled back or changes may need to be made to accounts. Items or accounts may need to be deleted if necessary. The test server is not a free for all sandbox but is there to test different things in the game. As such some aspects of the game may be disabled as needed.

Some info to help you get started:

    The Assembly FAQ

    Assembly
The „Assembly“ is the new DarkOrbit crafting system that will allow you to create all kinds of items. You will be able to craft consumables like ammunitions and CPUs, and sometimes special, rare or even unique items like ship designs and the like.

To do so, you will need to collect resources and recipes that drop from NPC, are part of mission or Arena rewards etc., or which can be purchased for Uridium (essentially because some people might not want to wait for the resources to drop).

Of course some recipes (like ship designs) can be used only once to create one item, whereas others (e.g. ammo) can be used as many times as long as you have the required resources.

The items created this way behave just like normally obtained items and will be working normally.

What kind of resources will be required?
For the beginning, you will need special resources. Some of them are extremely rare and may not always found in space. Some of these materials are called Mucosum, Plasmide, Scrap and Prismatium.

    What are recipes?

Recipes are the blueprints the nano-printers need. These recipes list the resources required to craft the item, how many of that item are crafted (e.g. 100x UBR-100) and the time it takes to build.

Some of these recipes can be used only a limited number of times (e.g. to craft ship designs, a P.E.T. or drones) while others are usable multiple time (e.g. to craft ammunitions).

Some recipes for consumables that can be used only once, can stack in your inventory, so they take up only one slot.
The recipes will have a description detailing: the name(s) and amount(s) of the resource(s) needed, the time the crafting process will take and, for recipes that are usable for a limited time only, the remaining use-by time.

How do I get the special resources and recipes?

Recipes and resources may be available as rewards for achievements, arena victories, missions, daily login bonus (e.g. during special events), or as NPC drops or may even be obtained from the shop. The actual source can and may vary for each resource and recipe.

    How do I craft?
First you open the Assembly window.
At the top right you will see the “Filter” dropdown menu. There you can select the recipes displayed in the list of craftable items. (The row of icons right below the filter.)

The list of craftable items contains all the recipes you have collected. The recipes are marked with special icons detailing their usability (“craftable multiple times”, “unique”, “event-only”).

Clicking on the recipe will show the details in the window below: a larger view of the item you can craft, a description of the item, and the list of resources required (with amount required / amount available in your inventory).

Depending on how many times the recipe can be used, you can select the number of items you want to craft. The amount of required resources will be updated. Note: You cannot craft more items than you have resources for.

The “Build time” (time required to finish building the item(s)) is updated according to the amount and the base time.

Once you click “Build” a progress bar in the window and on the recipes icon shows you how much time remains until the build process is finished.

When the build process is finished, the progress bar on the recipe icon is replaced with an icon and on clicking this, a “Collect” button appears. Click this to transfer the items from the nano-printer to your inventory.

Should you own multiple recipes for items that can only be built once, the “Build” button is not available. These recipes can be sold in the shop.

Do the resources count against the Cargo limit?

Recipes and the new resources are not counted against the ship’s maximum Cargo limit. The new resources are directly added to your inventory and not your ship’s cargo bay.

    The Assembly Launch Event FAQ
    Dates TBA

Is there a reason why you are running an event?

As the Assembly system adds several new functions to the game and can have a big impact on the overall balance of the game, we want you to give it a good try first and see how you like it.

Which new resources are there and where can we get them?

First of all, we are going to add some new resources as drops to certain NPC and missions. Two of the more common ones will also be available in the in-game shop so you can focus on collecting the rare resources.

Mucosum Lordakia, Lordakium and Sibelonit(Regular, Boss, and Uber) Shop: No
Plasmide Devolarium and Sibelon(Regular, Boss, and Uber) Shop: Yes
Prismatium Kristallon and Kristallin (Regular, Boss, and Uber) Shop: No
Scrap Saimon and Mordon(Regular, Boss, and Uber) Shop: Yes

Which recipes are available during the event?
For the time of the event only we are introducing a number of unique recipes.
    • 1x Pusat Vengeance design (once)
    • 1x Goliath Surgeon design (once)
    • 1x P.E.T. (once)
    • 200x UCB-100 missiles
    • Customization options
o Chimera – Cool Mint design
o Mirage – Cool Mint design
o Enigma – Cool Mint design
o Phantom – Cool Mint design
o Robobat – Poison Green design
    o Robobat – Demon-Glow Red design
o Robobat – Acid Blue design

“Once” means that a recipe can only be used to craft this one item once. All other items can be used multiple times as long as you have the required resources.
Note that except the P.E.T. recipe these will be removed after the event ends. If you want to craft one or more of these recipes, you should take the opportunity and collect the required resources during the event. (As these items are very valuable, we will decide after the event when we will make these recipes available again.)
For further information on the required resources and build times, consult the recipe in-game.

Which recipes will be available after the event?

Of course the Assembly is not a one-off event. The main feature will remain in the game and the following recipes will be available permanently:
    • 1x AJP-01 Advanced Jump CPU
    • 1x EMP-01 Mine
    • 1x Goliath Bastion Design (once)
    • 1x HST-2Hellstorm Rocket Launcher (once)
    • 1000x MCB-50
    • 1x REP-4 Repair Robot 4
    • 1x SO4-CPU Slot Extender 4
