The Official Truth About Boosters

So some of us are wondering about a few facts on boosters.
Do they keep counting down while you are logged completely out of both client and backpages?

 

they count down only when you are on the map, when you logout timer stop.

 

No.

In the booster description, it says "10 hours of In-game time" = 10 hours of time spend on game.

 

As the others have said...
You have to be physically in the game for the boosters to count. When you log off and you're left in the back page, your boosters' times freeze.

Thank you all for your assistance with this.

With boosters, the pro-boosters which are the shared ones, and the regular boosters will not run while you are not logged into the game. But with the 50% booster, it will run while not in-game.

Yes. There is something.
I just won a Damage booster last night on USA East 1. I was not logged into the client, yet when I went to the Shop page to check all my boosters times, the DMG booster had already ticked off time without being logged into the client.

You should check into why the timers are counting down from a just won Auction booster without being logged into the client.
10 hours is 10 hours. 9 hours and less after just winning the damn thing tells me that there's an issue with the system, and I want it investigated, because this is NOT the first instance where I've found my boosters counting down while logged out of the client.

 

Did you do a full log out asin not just pressing the x at the top right at the moment im having a problem when im logging out but when it reaches 1 its says logout or reconnect if you shut you're computer down when it says that you are still logged into the game map, and by won did you get it in trade or off a npc?

 

I always wait til the 5 second countdown is over (I've been a premium member since 2006 and never spent a moment without Premium) and then click Cancel instead or "Establish New Connection", so that the client automatically closes the window down for me.

 

I find it hard to believe you have been playin since 2006 and still dont know how boosters work. I have never had any problems with boosters running down when I am not logged in to the space map, I check them regularly and make sure and buy enough to get me through the week. You should contact support and have them look into your account.

 

I have no problem with just X-ing out the window. My boosters are alright when I do that.

 

Cowboy, I know how they're SUPPOSED to work, I just wanted to see what Tech would say is the official workings. I've been seeing my boosters lose time while logged out, and I think it's high time Support got off their sorry asses with their excuses and fixed the stuff they screw up or lie about.
And I've been playing since 2005, not 2006.

I've been here since Alpha, lol. Amazing what you don't know, even with as much time as I have put into the game. I took a 3 year break and came back and found out I went from one of the top dogs to mince meat toaster streudal Noobiness all over again with Lf4's and upgrades and bio to deal with, lol.

Alls clear, Poseidon. In the last 4 months that I haven't been playing as much, I sent my laptop to a good friend who's certified all things certifiable for PC's and all things related, and he sent it back a week later, told me there was an error occuring with my Run Time Java and storage settings for HD acting as RAM, and some part of Norton that I kept missing, that was supposed to have been deleted by Norton Removal Tool, but was actually hiding in the csrss files, slowing down system 32, and timing out between wifi card/actual network out-bound signal, resulting in lack of Logout when I thought it was done.
gotta love it when downloads get connection errors and don't work properly.
