[TI] Lag, Logins, and Forum

  1. For my latest rant, I will keep away from sarcasm and stick to what I think are facts.
    I am not trying to disrespect anyone involved.

    I just put in a ticket to support, we are told we need to do that first. Again this week, as it is about every 3 months or so, many ppl are saying they are unable to load the battle map. My clanmates confirm it, and several posts here confirm it. For many, the game has been unplayable since Wednesday. Myself, I can get on the battlemap, but the lag is extreme. Five seconds of movement, then five seconds of freeze. No other gaming sites are doing this.
    This is a regular occurrence on Dark Orbit followed by a recurring response. We are told to clear cache, try a different browser, and update everything.
    None of this works, and we all say so. When alotta people complain at the same time it's not a coincidence or OUR machines. It's something Bigpoint needs to fix.
    THIS. This is the problem with the Forum.
    Every time this happens, the Forum goes into defensive mode and does not provide any help.
    When many people are having the same problem, the forum moderators need to give them the benefit of the doubt and BELIEVE there may be a problem that goes beyond the latest flash player or using a different browser. The forum guys should also have direct communication to support where they can say, hey, we got alotta people that can't get online.
    A better reply would be more like: While you check your browser and updates, we will be checking to see if there is a problem elsewhere. The typical responses imply that the fault is OURS and it's just bad customer support.

    I am sorry that you are experiencing this type of issue. However at this time I cannot direct a report on a particular server issue as I would need the following information to even being processing a report.

    Ship Name
    User ID
    Server

    If you would also include a copy of your trace route, we can gather the information provided by you and others who are experiencing the same issue.

    If you are unsure how to do a traceroute:
    1. Open Windows Menu (bottom left corner)
    ->Type cmd.exe and click enter
    -->For Windows 8.1 you are looking for the "Command Prompt"
    ---> Windows 10 users, I'm afraid I can't advise if it is different for you. Hopefully there's someone around here with Win10 who has it who could advise if needed.

    2. Type any of the following into the command prompt. I have provided a few servers so you can select the one most relevant to the one you might normally play:
    GB1:
    tracert darkorbit-46-game-01-pub-01.bigpoint.net
    GE1:
    tracert darkorbit-22-game-01-pub-01.bigpoint.net
    US East 1:
    tracert darkorbit-22-game-01-pub-01.bigpoint.net
    GA1:
    tracert darkorbit-69-game-01-pub-01.bigpoint.net
    US West:
    tracert darkorbit-145-game-01-pub-01.bigpoint.net

    Once you have entered any of those into the command prompt, hit enter.

    When finished, you can take a screenshot (PrintSc) similar to how you might do screenshots of chat or game, or you can right click to select all and then press enter to copy the results.

    Again, you can provide those here, or send them to support if you would rather.
