  1. Hi,

I am having to repost my original inquiry as I can not log into my US EAST1 again and had to create a new account and go through US3 to log in.

    My original inquiry.....
    _____________

    Hi,

I noticed that when trying to log on the game that I could not get to the main screen for US East 1 only with my computer that runs Windows 10. I was, however, able to log in to the game using my older lap top which uses Vista.

I then went to my third lap top which also uses Windows 10 and same problem. The problem occurs only with US East 1 and not East 2.

I do not know if the operating system has anything to do with or just logging in at the right (or wrong time).

    Thanks

    Tina

All that being said, I had the thread closed thinking it was resolve. It start up again immediately after I posted to close the thread. After speaking to my Internet Company's support team, they stated that their server is having a problem connecting to US East 1. They also tried connected to US2 and 3 and were able to do so.

I have no problem connecting to other servers ie US2 or US3. I just can not connect to US1.
The person I spoke to stated that most likely it is on your end, however, they will look at the situation later tonight or in the morning. I was able to log on for about two hours and lost connection on the back page. I have not been able to get on since. I also tried pinging US east 1 and in comes back as unable to connect.

When trying to log on this is the link I am given:
    http://us1.darkorbit.bigpoint.com/P...P4HxBDLDQzVEW71bTquYeeoBtbFLPzUgbdzyYC3Qw-69Y

I also tried my other account to log in and could not connect ot the server.

This is the message I getL

    This site can’t be reached

us1.darkorbit.bigpoint.com’s server DNS address could not be found.

    ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED

If you need any other information from me then please let me know.

    Thanks

    Tina

PS is there a way to log into forums without going through the back page? If you cant log on the backpage you cant post inquires

  2. They removed the internal log in to the Forums when they did the Update in '13-'14 and as such we can only login through the game itself. Even the BigPoint access has been removed so there is only the account access for some reason.

Can you please change your computer network to use Google's DNS servers?
The DNS servers of Google are: 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 .

Your problem is obviously a problem with the DNS server (whatever DNS you are using). So, if you are not using Google's DNS servers, I think it will solve the problem for you.

I am using Google's DNS, and have no problems reaching the server you mentioned:

I am using Windows 7 currently, but I don't think it is a lot different on Windows 8 and Windows 10.

What you do is: right click on the network on the Windows start bar:
then you choose: Open network and sharing center.

From there, on the left side you select Change adapter settings:

Right click on your network interface, and select Properties.

From the new window that opens, click on Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and then click on Properties:

Finally, you set the DNS exactly like the following image:

Press OK and reboot the PC. :) The provided DNS server IP addresses are official Google DNS servers.

Let me know if that worked.

    Update:
The procedure above is the same on Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, Windows 10.

  6. Well with the risk of jinxing myself, that seems to have done the trick....Have not had any issues since....knock on wood, while rubbing rabbits foot...

Please, however, keep the thread open, in case I have problems again...I will report back in a few days if the problem is solved....sooner if it reoccurs.

    Thanks for your help
    :):p:D:)

Great to hear that. You won't have problems with Google DNS. I am using them for years, and had no problem since then. :)
