[TI] No chat of any kind, no connection

Is anyone else having issues not being able to use chat? Been like this for several hours now...

 

All week long. Some players, sounds like your possibly one of them, had their chat just go out a couple days ago. Me, started at the intro of Assembly and never changed. Thank goodness I have TS.

 

There have been various threads on this and the fix that has worked for some is restarting their Router (also clearing cache and maybe even restarting your computer).. although I have no clue as to why this might help personally

 

They have made some changes to the CHAT and the residual/stored information conflicts with the NEW programming. Removal of all stored information allows for the NEW to be loaded and thus allows for it to operate properly. Resetting the router and restarting the computer just makes sure nothing is running in the background to prevent the new programming to load properly.

U would suggest logging out of D O completely clear the History, Flash Cache (if not attached to the browser like Google Chrome), close all browsers, restart the computer and while the computer shuts down turn off the Modem/Router, as the computer starts to load then turn the Modem back on and see if this fixes the issue.

I also have no idea what the modem has to do with the storage of data but have found without doing the reset of it I have continued to experience the problems also.

I have tried numerous browsers and still get the same thing, chat failed, connection lost, etc. One moment the chat was working and the next it went blank no chat what so ever. I have not done anything different, made no changes to game nor browser, frustrated and confused why this is an issue..

 

Just curious, do you or dont you have chat yet? For me Ive tried everything I can think of, refreshed, cleaned, updated..nothing, still no chat. One minute it was fine and the next absolutely nothing, been like this since Friday night...at least for me

 

Chat been out for me beginning of the event assembly

 

sorry to hear that. When event started, chat would always mess up when someone joined group or left...some could type but not see what they wrote, some just could do anything..Its a frustration for sure, especially when those that dont have TS...Complicates it that much more

 

I have no chat on american servers, european servers are fine. Some players had chat in the beginning and then it went out later into the event. DO needs to try and work with isp's. Seems I can get chat when on a business link but home service is broken. Meant to bypass wifi today but too sick. Will do after some sleep.

 

Interestingly I play US1 and have a ship on INT1 and INT8 although the latter I dont play... I will check their chat ... I live in UK and my chat is fine on US1

... Go figure...

INT8 I have no problems in global but couldnt check Group chat... will edit again when I have looked at INT1

I have now checked INT1 and have had no problem including in Group Chat over maybe an hour (when I timed out or changed map the group was not deleted but I was kicked back to Global and there was no problem when I moved back to the Group tab)

Is this a Server issue or an ISP issue... I have done all the suggested things but some people still feel that they dont have what they were expecting... The Chat has been updated for the first time since I started playing 6 years ago... maybe people need to practice and check which room they are in when issues arise...
I am only throwing ideas up in the air and the people who understand may see what I am saying..

 

They did an Update to the Chat near the beginning of the Event, if you have not done the steps defined above then try them;

Delete History,
Clear Flash and Java Cache
Restart Computer
Reset Router/Modem

Otherwise give the information ASTRAEA asked for and she will have it looked into for you.

I'm having same problem and it's about 3 day my chat dosen't work it's like chat.do.connect failed something like this if im not wrong...

I got chat when bypassing router. Trying to see if there is a setting that may be blocking but you know how they bury that stuff...

 

Try unplugging it for a few minutes, it may be storing information that is not wanted. I had to have my ISP reset it once from their end to clear some random stuff from its memory.

 

Well I have done several things in my attempts to get chat back, now im facing another in game issue..I have lost the ability to use the skill bar..the number keys are not working that correspond with placement of your ammo and such..Can anyone explain what is causing these problems??? I have tried several browsers , cleared flash, clearedf history did updates..all the usual things they tell us to do. This is getting frustrating...I couldnt even defend myself against another player.......

 

You will have to go into the settings and keyboard tab and re-apply all of the key assignments. Support can not explain why it happens but every once in a while they lose their binding.

 

I did manage to get keyboard functions back but it took some time.

 

I have done all that stuff and not only chat not working,been sending support tickets etc... They are great,but can only do so much....
