[TI] Ranks make NO sense

So the Cheif Colonel who is just above me (highest colonel in my company) was acc banned. I am still seeing his rank points that I need to get, and EIC now has only 1 cheif colonel...
Yesterday, for whatever reason, I was cheif colonel. Today however, I logged in and I'm back to colonel and I am seeing this banned cheif colonels rank points again.
I did contact support but I recieved some jarbled message that didn't really answer anything.

Anyone care to try to make heads or tails of this ?

 

I never understand the ranks. I don't understand how someone can be a lower badge rank but a higher rank on rank board.

 

It's because top user ranking is basically based around Experience and not honor. If someone from the top 10 changes to a different company, they won't move in top user, but they have lost a ton of rank points due to the 50% honor reduction.

 

The whole ranking system really makes no sense to anyone at all. Last year I was a Chief Major but then I got sick with a cancer, "recovered thank you", but I was unable to log in for 2 months. What happened to my rank though was that I had been demoted to Lieutenant; what a drag that was after all that I had already been thru. It has been said repeatedly in these Forum pages to just ignore the ranking system, but that is hard to do as it is Human Nature to seek a higher rank no matter who meaningless.

I really do not understand how it does not make sense... You will be certain rank if your rank points are higher than a certain amount of % in your company. If biggest clan in your company changes to vru from mmo for example the points needed for Colonel can go from 5million to 3million easily in vru and increase in mmo.
And if a clan from other company that has higher ranked players than you are switches to your company, the requirement for Basic Major can go from 500k to 800k.

 

Did you not read it? I'm the highest colonel and the guy above me was banned, and I'm unsure why I have to match his rank points if his account not longer exists. Also, the Rank system F.A.Q says that 0.1% of the company should be chief colonel, if that's the case their should be 3

 

If it was a permanent ban then he would be removed from all rankings. However if it was just a ban for a week or something then his rank would still show up but he would be basic space pilot. rank is only affected when somebody switches companies.

 

He's been removed from ALL rankings, the only thing that remains is his rank points

 

yea its something im scratching my head on myself your right he should be removed because i had some friends in the past that got ban but was not removed from the rankings infact on East 1 there is still some people who hase been basic space pilot for a while now and is still taking up the ranking spot. i see this as a problem that needs to be fixed on all servers if your a basic space pilot you shouldnt be on the same rank as say a chief colonel. I hope this draws some need attention.

Ranking in this game is buggered for a while yet. I feel it was because of the 3 year onslaught of the npc bot users who ruined the ranking. I think it will eventually get back to normal but uncertain really.

Only numbers that matter to me now are ship kills.

Held my star for four years but couldn't keep up to the 24/7 npc botters so that star went.

It's been almost a week, hope I'm not going to have a "do you still have this issue" post 2 months down the line.

 

It might be that the colonel below you caught up? Or, maybe the ship that was supposedly banned is unbanned or not actually banned.
