[TI] Refining Window/Seprom Won't Move

Still haven't got chat back, after trying everything suggested, frustrating but does not stop game play.

This new problem, however, will seriously affect my game play. I've sent myself seprom to put on lasers, rockets and shields. The cargo is sent, it shows up in the refining window, but when I try to place it on any of the above nothing happens.

I closed everything, cleared cache, again, rebooted computer, and it still won't budge

Any suggestions?

Feel, somewhat better that I am not alone, but... wondering what to do??

Thinking I am going to un-install firefox and reinstall it. There can't be any tidbits of it left if I just ex it out and go new, right? right

Not sure that will fix anything, but certainly can't make it any worse.

You actually need to UNINSTALL it to remove every tidbit of it from the computer. I used to use Firefox but found I could not get the maps to load a few years ago and switched to Chrome. I have had fewer problems with it, but recently I seem to be having multiple Flash Crashes all the time and since Flash is integrated into so many browsers now it is hard to just download a new copy of Flash.

 

Ok, well, my frustration just deepens. I un-installed firefox, cleared cache from control panel- checked every box down, passwords, whole 9 yards. Did the %APPDAT% to get to firefoxes secret roaming stash and deleted it. Then spent a few excruciating hours trying to reinstall firefox, culminating in having to do it from safemode to sidestep 7-zip, and guess what? Still no chat, and my refining window still not working.

AAARGH!!!

 

If I may ask, which server are you playing? Sometimes problems like that are server specific instead of client specific so it may not be your fault and mutilating your computer won't solve the issue.

 

Being stuck at full capacity with no way to load my sep is a real bummer... Im doing a couple gates for the weekend event and I can't loot anything.

 

I play 3 servers, US2, GB1, and US4.

US2 is the only one, thus far, that is plagued with this newest of horrors. However, when the chat fiasco started, it started, for me, on US2, and then a couple of days later leaked out into the other two.

I sent an email to support last night, with all my info. I am not a premium player, so I imagine I am pretty far down on the priority list.

One thing I should add that may or may not be contributing to my problem. I live in Mexico, in a rural area, where hardwire internet is just not possible. I get my internet broadcast wi-fi from a T1 tower in town, to my house 2.5km away. So I do not have a modem, and so, no possibility of rebooting.

I play on my laptop, so I am going to try something later today- I will take it to town and get internet somewhere else, and see if that does anything.

I am down to 93k sep on lasers, and my bay ( I play in a vengi) is 2988/2000, lol. Could switch to my goli, I guess, pop an npc or two and put 12 prom on my speed and switch back to be able to at least play. Just doesn't seem like a long term solution, haha

All I can say that rebooting a modem sounds more like a myth. A router doesn't store any app specific data nor can 'invent' or alter packets (unless it's broken) so shouldn't be a problem.
I had occasional serious problems on 1 or 2 servers (out of 5 I play on), but everything was working fine on the other ones.
Add I wanted to test whether 'clearing voodoo' really helps, and my ships were back without touching any cache or router or switching browsers and hangar started working again, so go figure.

 

Thanks for your input bisphenol. In any case, getting internet elsewhere did NOT in fact make any difference, so I am back to where I started. GB1 and US4 continue working fine, and US2 continues to annoy me- since it is my best account, lol.

I still have 4 event missions to do on US2, but am getting stingy with the 93k lasers I have left. I log on everyday, hoping that the server faerie might have worked her magic while I sleep, but, alas, not yet.

I can't even do some of the dailies- the ore collecting ones, ha!

Well, since I am not really playing its a good time to build up precision rocket targeters, get my log book a day, and would be a great time to store up ore on my lasers/rockets- oh, but wait...that's why I am not playing, haha

 

MYTH or not it has been known to resolve some issues that have occurred. It does not solve all of the issues but there is something in the process that gets rid of STORED information that creates conflicts with the NEW updates.

Back to the issue.

Since this is more of an account issue, I might suggest sending a ticket to Support and have them look into it for you. Make sure to tell them that you have already done the BASICS and it did not help and also mention that it is only this one server giving you the problems. This is above what the community can do for you and needs to be looked into by the techies.

You might want to use the "Edit" so you don't get accused of "bumping" your thread by posting to it back to back.

i have sent a detailed letter to support, and have thus far received a reply from a robot.

things are in motion- hopeful to get it resolved. if i learn anything worth sharing i will. me and brevon cant be the only ones???

 

These can be isolated instances and can only effect a few accounts and is why it is not widely announced or able to be addressed in the forums. But occasionally there is someone who has survived a problem like this and they can help but in this case it looks like it may not be the case.

"Bumping" is where you will make your thread appear on the top of the thread list to try to get more views and possibly more input. This is frowned upon as some posts are just frivolous (not that this is the case here) and as you said you are new to the forum. I was informed I was making problems by not knowing to "Quote" and cut and paste it into a previous post instead of posting 2 postings in a row. If you want to reply to more than one comment you click "reply" to the first, type your response, then click the "reply" for the next post you want to reply to and it will insert it where the cursor is at that time (make sure it is the end of the posting or plan on making some changes to make it flow properly).

 

Or, maybe to build that skylab to the max? Lots of people leave seprom refinery at level 19 and are like "will start next week, oh the event is on so right after it, etc" and it usually never gets done...

Would be interesting to know the reason of such peculiar issue and certainly helpful for other players having 'custom' problems.

 

I'm on my last 65k sep shots from the over 1.2mill I had saved up... Gonna finish them off in Kappa gate and see if it allows me to drop my Sep on once it's empty. I'll edit in as to whether this works or not in a little while.

EDIT: I regret to inform that even though my sep has run out on lasers, I still can't load any more onto my lasers. Promerium works fine. I guess the Seprom is just taking space for now...

 

I've found a partial workaround! I used the Lab CPU to auto-upgrade weapons. I already had some Prom on my lasers, but, it did drop all of my stuck Seprom onto my rockets! Next load I get, I'll try to keep the lasers empty and report back my findings in an EDIT. I have a small load of Prom on its way now, after it arrives, Ill quick send some Seprom and hopefully come back with good news.

EDIT: Only a partial workaround... It will always auto upgrade the rockets, even with the lasers empty. Unusual discovery though... The game isn't clearing out the existence of the 3195 Seprom I originally sent and got stuck. It used the Seprom that dropped from gate creatures, but, after each delivery I have another stack of 3195 that I can do nothing with but allow the CPU to charge rockets. I have over 250k Sep'd rockets, so, hardly a help at all... Seprom still doesn't move when I try to move it manually...

Upside? At least I got my storage back!

EDIT 2: So, I realized what is going on here... Now, whenever I sell something at the station, it refreshes that stack of 3195... Ok, gonna put in another support ticket letting them know what I've discovered. It won't forget the 3195 and is also counting it against what I can send from skylab. I havent tried yet, but, Ill bet it wont let me grab full cargo either since it thinks I still have 3195 Sep sitting in there.

EDIT 3: I tried replacing the Seprom on my rockets with Prom to see if the Lab CPU will move the Sep to lasers instead. It did not work. It also no longer loads the "Stuck" Seprom onto rockets anymore. So, my good ol 3195 stack is back for a while. I have a feeling if I use the Generator Boost CPU that it will work again, messed up like it was and not taking the sep away. Try Prom and it won't work anymore. Don't wanna even try. At least my shields still have a nice amount of time on them...

 

Remove the cpu before sending the Promerium.

Yes, I am having similar issue as Brevon. Only works with lab cpu, but bay is always full even when empty- and I cant even send prom- even if i take out the lab cpu
