So I've had this happen was too many times now, the memory of flash player goes up and up so much on the ToT gate even when doing nothing and it's just aliens moving.

If I'm in the gate on a wave longer than say an hour, flash player crashes cos it's a 32bit app and it's trying to take more than 2048MB RAM

Please can someone take a look at why it wants to take more memory constantly when nothing is happening other than aliens moving on a map??

  2. Clear your Flash Player Cache, and restart your browser (you can Google how to clear it). Is your PC a 32 or 64 bit?
-To find out, hit start, right click computer and hit properties, and find it under the System section > System type (On win 10, search up "System" in start)

Make sure that you have 32 bit installed for a 32 bit PC or a 64 bit for a 64 bit PC.

After all that, open your browser and go to the space map. Right click the map, and hit Settings. Click on the little icon with a folder and a green arrow in it, and slide the slider all the way to the right, then restart your browser. This lets Flash have more room to work with :>

If all that doesn't work, I don't know what else to say, probably just reinstall your browser.

  3. Hm.. all done, but it doesn't help. And lot of another ppl have same problems, do you rella think that we all aren't able to clean caches? :D
It has nothing to do with browser, for example I play on FF latest version (Flash too), win XP 64 bit, my partner has win 10, plays on edge.. latest versions of all, all cleared and problem still exists :)

But this I wrote in another thread, I think ot's not necessary to write everywhene on forum :)

  4. I play on Windows 10-64 bit, with 64 bit chrome, and I don't have any problems on my end. It could be your PC's build.

Also, is it latency or FPS lag?

  5. play in Iron u arew solid btarat.

  6. refresh browser before RAM usage reaching 3K

It is neither, it is flash player crashing because it's a 32bit application. My OS is 64bit, Firefox is 32bit, Flash is 32bit. My browser cache is cleaned every time i restart, my adobe cache regulary cleaned and i have no problem on anything else other than this gate.

Rather than having thousands of users having to change software on their machine to play DO's new gate, it is much more expected that they fix the memory leak in this map. If aliens move on a map, they DO NOT need to know where they were two spaces ago, the developers just haven't coded with memory releasing in mind.

I play FIFA 16 on this PC, I play F1 2015, I play Elder Scrolls online, all need lots of RAM, CPU and graphics resource and all happily run fine on 60 FPS without crashing on good graphic settings.

With DO, I have to tune them down to Average for a bloody flash game!!!

  8. Change to 64 bit then. Your OS is 64 bit, and you should have gotten the 64 bit software for it as well.

  9. It's not a memory leak? It's just high memory usage.

    There is a difference. ;)

  10. The gate does indeed cause problems with flash if you dont jump out and clear up every now and then, i crashed twice altogether.

Thank you all for assisting the player with their question.
burkey, Have you tried a different browser? Some people have had more stable performance with different browsers. Regarding the games you listed, they are often sandboxed in an game engine to provide stability. This is difficult with a flash game that must run on multiple browsers, operating systems, and hardware. Also, there is the browsers themselves and their related plugins. When Adobe or Java, or (Insert browser here), or even (Insert OS here) updates, there is always the potential to cause issues. With the sandboxed game engine the environment sealed off from the effects of most updates.
I hope this helps you understand the potential issues that may arise, and that sometimes a change to a different browser may work better with your specific hardware and software combinations.

Do you have any further questions on this topic or may we close?

    Best regards,
    .-Raijin-.

Changed to 64bit Firefox and 64bit Flash, can now let the gates consume 3GB of RAM for 5 uber sibs :D

Feel free to close now thanks
