Ticket for being good!

Hello, as all of you are aware, DO has a few minor holes in it like Swiss cheese. Through these holes people are cheating and escaping BP money making grasps. In real life if you are caught doing something bad you are punished, but sometimes people gives reward for doing good stuff. Statistically it shows that people who are rewarded for doing good stuff changes their opinion and stops doing the bad stuff, and well the bad people who are punished just don't learn their lesson easily.

So I propose that DO give away (rarely happens) free stuff to those who behave and follow DO rules. Those that cheat don't get crap and may be punished or banned. DO can do this anonymously without the people knowing when it's going to occur so people can be on their best behavior all the time and not when the event comes around since they won't be able to tell when it will occur. This could lower the potential threat of people wanting to cheat. We know cheaters already are taking risks, but what if they saw a good side to cheating the good? That'll increase their risks then i guess.

The rewards could be Uridium, GG spins, New designs, New formations, ammo, Booty keys, drone designs? well DO wouldn't function with giving out free drone designs lol, but it would help if DO does give us something once in a while for being good abiding citizens of Eic, MMO, and VRU.

 

Yeah, that is perfect idea. Giving rewards to those who play fair will make this game better. For example, this thing is getting implemented in another game that I have played, and before/after effects are amazing. People do want to receive some awards for fair play, and they change their behavior.

yeh but what do we mean exactly as being fair? You shouldnt be rewarded for playing by the rules. THATS WHAT YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO DO lol. do you know how fast DO will be broke lmao. Although I like the idea, i just think its a bit too eh to do. I mean, like i stated, you are supposed to play fair. Telling me that i will get extra uri because I play fair just doesnt really make sense. Honestly, I think if you cheat, you should pay a FINE, a real fine lol.

I dont see how DO is going to go broke for awarding players who are following the rules. Other successful games has implied with this idea, and I know of some people who quit Darkorbit because it was lame to do anything about bad behaviors of others, if rewards are given out then less people would try to cheat, making the fair players stay, thus players revenue their money in a more fun Darkorbit.

Well, this is the thing, creating awards for almost a half a million players will hurt DO, you are asking for in game stuff that costs money usually. If you make that available for free, then DO doesnt make money from it. Thats what I mean by going broke. In my opinion, I just think that you should play fair because thats what you are supposed to do. Giving someone an incentive doesnt necessarily make the player an honest player, it just means that they want the incentives. But that will not help at all. Secondly this can be hoarded by using new accts and accruing all of this over time. I dont mind the awarding of GG spins, I think thats great. If by ammo you mean x3s and lower, then fine. But i just dont think this is something that DO would do.

 

Im pretty sure if you give half a million players each around 15k uri, or a new design or something (ie razer design) then it shouldn't really affect DO business. Besides you need millions and prob hundred of millions of uridium to be good, i don't think when DO give one person 15k will affect the millions they need onward. If players make new accounts then they get the free stuff in that account, it wouldn't be stacked up or anything lol. Go ahead a bunch of noob accounts with 15k each, not going to do much.

 

well you are asking DO to dish out 225 Billion uri. that my friend will actually affect the game. I understand your point, it would be nice for players to get something. But for me, you should always play fair. I dont need some type of compensation for it. Its just what you are supposed to do ya know. I mean GG spins, ok, X3s and lower, ok fine. But uri? NOPE, thats the life blood of this game lmao

 

I am looking at percentage, not how much is given out. Percentage of giving out like 15k uri is practically .000000000000001% on getting each player closer to UFE. Picture yourself being 15k uri richer. Feels good right? But it doesn't make you stronger. Certainly it does make you feel as a need to strive for goodness. Now If you do want GG spins, 200 gg spins has been given out in the past before, maybe they will do that again and id take 200 spins over 15k uri any day. Does that meen DO gave out more than 225 billion uri in spins? Of course! They can do whatever they want, but does that affect anything they are making? People buying billions and 100s of trillions of uridium. That 225 billion uri is nothing compared to the 100 tillions of uridium DO sells for our actual money, not even 1 percent. No one really knows how much DO staff and dev along with BP wouldn't mind on giving out a little once in a while for a good cause. Though they are greedy, they should know that this will help reduce cheaters in a slighter amount, and if there is less cheater then the game will be fun. If the game is fun people spend more money (hopefully i don't) and it will increase their sales by a little. WIN WIN situation but surely if you don't want your 200 spins or 15k uridium, please do so and give me them.

DO is a game of chances, if you can find a Skill Design in a booty box. Then DO giving out prizes is definitely NO PROBLEM.

It's a good idea but would be difficult to administer fairly since you could not really trust player admins to do this.... favoritism.... and there have been admins who bend the curve for their pals. Player nominations would also be nothing more than clans voting their own in or players with multiple accounts or all their friends lumping together for free stuff.
Maybe if you made certain standards like no bans, bad language or no same company kills for a certain minimum playing time or helping with npc kills when not in a group gets you points... or defending a map.... etc... would be a challenge to create the specific behaviors and rules to reward and administer them via the system but it would encourage good behavior.

 

My thing is why reward a player for doing exactly what they are supposed to do. You are supposed to play fair. There should be no reason why anyone should get a reward for playing exactly the way its supposed to be. Thats my only point. You want some kind of gift from DO, then let it be via accomplishments in game, not because you played fair, because you are supposed to play fair. Sometimes I think some ideas need to be thought out a bit more in the sense of having taken into consideration the actual possibility of implementation. I just dont think that DO should be giving anyone anything for playing the way you are supposed to play.

 

This is a dumb idea... Why? Because DO doesn't catch 80% of the bug users/cheaters, so most of those cheats would be rewarded for being cheats.

 

It's not a bad idea that said as Dream demon said u have to catch the cheaters now first. Those thieves should be permanently banned. Then if DO keeps up with the new scripts that can be used then your idea has merit.

 

Not only does DO need a new and improved script with auto locks being back again, they need to stop letting bug users and glitch abusers go. Constantly glitches get abused, but nothing is done. There's Ven account left and right, hp/dmg/shield glitches, but nothing is ever done. You can't expect a game that doesn't punish bad players, to give those who played legit a reward.

 

+1. I want 1 million uri for not breaking any of the game rules since now, in more than 6 years . Joking of course, but your idea is good

 

One reward im sure DO does give is that they kick cheaters and we get higher in rank without doing much.

 

Yea man ofc, they kicked so many cheaters on my server that I almost advanced 0.5 places in the leader board... and rank points needed keep going up.
