  1. personally I think credit ships are void these days, I think maybe just deleting all the credit designs, like this

keep the phoenix as a starter ship, delete all the other credit designs, and just create a new one , yes just one credit ship, this is the way do is heading anyways right, so why not juast make one credit design to keep all credit and new starters happy until they get there first goli and start building up and that way they will be able utilise there hangeers a lot better with the choice of the starter ship and there new ships.

  2. Ok, so seriously, what is the problem? You don't like the credit ship, fine, don't use them. Its all I am using. There is a word for it, Variety. No its not the way DO is heading, DO just does not expand in the credit direction since players imagination don't allow them to try something different.
The credit ships have been here for a long time and the Nostro was just brought back a year ago. For that matter, the Nostro is the ship that the friend bonus is based on now.

I am wondering what brought this idea on in the first place. The Phoenix ship is not even the starter ship now, your instantly in a liberator. I am using the BigBoy and the Nostro.

You have a choice as to what ships you want to use in your hangers and I am sure most head to the goli blindly anyways, however for those of us looking for a change of pace, I vote no for your idea.o_O

Why not just make the credit ships upgrade to uri ships of a similar type?
For the price of the vengi all starfighter ships can gain vengi stats and possibly the perks of one of it's designs.
For the price of the goliath the bigboy could gain goli stats and possibly the perks of one of it's designs.
For the price of the Leo the Phoenix gains Leo stats and capabilities.

Or for the price of a vengi any of the credit and recon ships gain the leo's capabilities in all maps.

  6. That's cool, what about a reply to our thoughts when you stop in again. o_O

  7. Some people do not want to fly in a ship that they can not defend. As there are so many quests requiring Vengeance and Goliath kills some players prefer to stay in the credit ships, especially if they are not spinning the GGM or boxing for ever collecting uridium to repair their ships. I know we preferred to have the credit ships so we just bought new ones if we did not have the repair credits to continue to play after being popped. And for some players it is more fun to be in the smaller ships as they tend to be left alone by hunting parties. Besides what difference does it make, with the price of Hangars being dropped to less than what ONE hangar used to cost and the first 2 being CREDIT hangars why should it matter what ships they do have in their hangar, with the re-release of the Yamato and DefCom, the Aegis, Citadel and Spearhead trio, having both Lightning and Pusat ready to fly in the Vengeance, a Goliath for whatever design I want to carry, a Leonov for playing around in, and a FE P'nut (Phoenix) I am happy, but again I am not going to tell someone they can not have their favorite credit ships in place of my Yammy and Deffy (if I did not have these I might even have a Nostro and Bigboy instead). After I get all my BIO I will UFE my P'nut and see what I can do with it. Maybe even take a run at a credit ship or two (PSK~SUNDANCE), LOL.

We used to laugh at the players who opened their wallets and bought a FE Goliath and just started playing the game (you know the ones Basic Space Pilot with FE ship), they had no idea what they were doing or supposed to be doing, but they had this beautiful ship to fly around in and got popped by several Leo's as they attacked them thinking they were Billy Bad A** and finding out they were Joe Smoe with no hope of survival.

  8. I didn't mean this by creating a goliath and vengeance game only, I simply ment it by creating a sigle ship even or maybe 2 styles of credit ship that can have atleast a fighting chance against fe and ufe players, unexperienced players are starting this game and getting popped in 1 shot, and even some players that have a good shield balance cant stand a chance against a ufe ship that can hit alot, or even why not just do what they've kinda done for the citadel and create a ship that has alot of shield capabilitie and less firepower. alot of these new players are starting and finishing this game just as quick as they log on coz as soon as they log on they get popped and sit and think , whats the point in playing if I cant move off port.

  9. that's not an actually bad thought that could, I may of miss worded this alitlle bit, but that's what im trying to say, just upgrade the ships so new players can stand a chance. and not quit in there first hour because theres now too many hard hitters in the game and not even new players getting the chance to stretch there wings abit.

  10. im not saying I don't like credit ships I have a ufe ship and a full credit nostromo upgraded to level 10 on lasers and shield and a basic big boy that i use when im bored with no upgrades but it wouldn't have been possible without my ufe acc in my main hanger given extra benefits with credits, im simply saying if someone is playing and they start and get popped over and over again. kinda brings in this thought of whats the point in playing this game. you know fine well as an experienced player no one without any financial back up cannot support long time gaming in this game, just the way the games built, but then why advertise a free game when you cant actually get a good game play without digging thousands out of your bank every year.
I have many fe accounts and and 2 ufe accs on different servers, but that's me, im kinda thinking of new players that cant afford the luxury of buying thing, oh yea they say 1-1 to 1-3 are good maps but seriously, it would take a life time for any kinda experience outta those maps.
I suppose im just keen to see a new style of credit items to be brought in, im not saying make it the same as elite equipment I know that's not gonna happen in this lifetime or any close.
but you cant say you could easily upgrade the credit items to there maximum capabilitie with the credit upgrade costs ?? with support.
and yes I agree make the the credit players work hard for the credit upgrades but not at the expense of waiting years to achieve it, that's just ridiculous.

  11. That is a balance issue not a ship issue. It is something that has filled the Update & Idea area for a while now and getting rid of the progressive ships is not the answer. Back before the release of the LF-4 and creation of the UFE we had a major company loyalty and lots of players protecting the maps. Now the attitude has changed and the UFE can't be bothered with assisting with NPC kills or protecting the newbs doing so. The only thing they want to do in HUNT and it has even been said "they don't care about company lines anymore" if it is a ship it is dead.

Okay, so upgrading a ship that has no defenses, has no one helping defend it, is still a defenseless ship. The only way to keep the NEW player in the this imbalanced game is to return company loyalty to the mix. Get the UFE to protect the lower maps, OR prevent the UFE from attacking anything in the lowers, unless attacked first like the x-1 maps. Again, we all went through this stage of the game, just most of us did it on servers where we had protection from the "bullies" that are now UFE and do not care about the game.

I remember people like ChurchofBob, Matchbox, GeneralCave, who sat in enemy maps and waited for the targets to come to them and could handle a 5v1 fight and usually live to tell about it. It was reported they were in a map and it usually emptied out because we all knew they were very strong people, now you don't see them much anymore.

Okay so finally something that makes sense. RE-VAMP the Credit Upgrade costs!! Do NOT change the ships, just allow the equipment to be upgraded cheaper. But the issue is even FE+ players that have been in the game for years are leaving the game, these players like you had several accounts, some for fun, some because they got bored with the harder quests that they were having to do, some just because they wanted more than one account/server to play, and even a few wanted an easy way to CHEAT the game. But these people could be classified as VETERANS of the game and have quit because they felt like they were starting over as a NEW player even though they were FE (with shield and hull bio maxed) and could not defend themselves to make it to port and prevent being popped anymore. And this is not an UPGRADE thing, it is not an equipment thing, IT IS a game progression thing and with the progression there needs to be segregation of the UFE players and the NEW players, meaning the UFE can not attack anyone lower than level 16 (unless they are foolish enough to attack first) the maps need to provide protection that the populations of the servers do not do (like back before 2013), penalties for same company attacks need to be revisited to "IF YOU HAVE LOCK when the friendly dies you loose honor points" not if you helped kill them you do not get punished. This might prevent some of the glory of being in a MCC clan and prevent some of the same company killing that has started occurring where you are being killed by someone helping an enemy attack you when the single attacker could have done it without the assistance.

Everything you have said is true and needs to be fixed, just the method of change is not the method needed. The ability to become UFE needs to be changed so it does not take years to achieve it or "digging thousands out of your bank every year" YES to be UFE should be a chore, but it should also require some payback to the players coming up in the game, create new quests where you are assisting a NEW players (level 12 and less) gain "X" experience and you get a LF-4, be in a group of lower level players for "X" time and get an LF-4, assist killing UBK's for others quest and get an LF-4, you get the idea. These quests could be added to level 21 or be level 22 quests to encourage the UFE to work with the lower players and the reward would also be given to the "helped" player as long as they are in a group and the group completes the quest start to finish. The elusive LF-4 has become too hard to find in the Booty Chests except for the LUCKY FEW that we have decided we need to do GG's to get them and unless you want to PALLY your play time away or spend money on the game you can not do this either.

The community has been asking to RETURN a semblance of BALANCE to the game and suggested several ways to do it but we don't seem to be heard. The game needs help and the NEW players need to be able to see a light at the end of the tunnel, which has been lost since the inclusion of the LF-4 and Upgrade System. Somewhere, Someone, lost sight of the basic principals of business and gaming, You need players to be happy both NEW and Veteran and when you have both of them leaving the game like flies you have done something wrong. YES the VETERANS need to be able to enjoy what they want to do, BUT the NEW players have to be able to do what they need to do to progress in the game and see how they CAN become a VETERAN without having to reach into their wallet if they choose not to, eventually we all open it a little for one thing or another (PSK~SUNDANCE excluded from this LOL) but there was a time when we all could see how easily we could be FE without spending a dime on the game, but the UFE is not feasible without major cash outlay or tedious collection of Pally.

SO YES changes need to be made but not changes to the ships but how the LF-4's can be received.

  12. I guess one of my problems still is that I am an experience player. I am running a credit ship account with Nostro and BigBoy. I am actually in the BigBoy most of the time and working on the upgrades to the credit equipment (flax, LF2, B01, 3 shot launcher). Come next week everything will be level 4, and trust me, it will take a long long time to make the 15 billion credits needed to complete just one ship. However most players are not going to try that road, as its something an an experience player would even try since the push of the game is to make UFE Goli.

New players are shy but bull headed. They try to fly as far as possible before having the equipment to do what is needed. They also lack the fortitude to say "Hey will someone come help me shoot this BK that I am trying to kill with my paranha?" They need guidance, and the ability to ask for it. Its hard to get new players to open up about what they are doing. They mean well but unlike board games with instruction books, Dark Orbit is a Learn on the Fly type of game. The graduate system of getting ships is a good goal system. Players need to be focused on the task at hand while also being cautious about what is around the meteriod.

Anyways, after 3.5 months of playing, I can positively say that you can play the game without spending cash. I am level 15 and still trucking along daily. If I can do it in my clanless BigBoy, anyone can do it. However more the credit point. New players need to learn how to make the ships work for them and to watch the warning signs of things to come. No matter what game you play, you always start at the bottom. The real question is what are you going to do about it.

  13. Again I agree the Upgrade Costs for credit equipment need to be revisited, but they did try to discourage the NEW player from upgrading equipment that was supposed to be TEMPORARY, stepping stones, to the goal of becoming UFE. Communication is a 2 way street as I have asked for help doing different items and can not seem to get any responses and I am not a voiceless NEW player, but when my friends ask for help get the voiceless newbs to try to help UBK when they die with one hit from them.

  14. LOL, I don't know this TEMPORARY word, and I guess my Google is out. :D

That brings up another thing that is needed in this game, chat starting in the company chats. Players are stuck in this rut called global. You can never get any help in this "Advertise to Come Kill Me" box. I am not saying you are in global, but most players are,

  15. YES you and your FUN CREDIT account is the exception to the TEMPORARY that I was talking about. And YES you are right most players have decided there is more people to talk to in "GLOBAL" instead of "COMPANY" and "advertising" is not what I am trying to do, so if I know the player in Global I know how to whisper to ask for help, but if it is a call for protection of a map I am hollering in the Company chat and usually not getting any response when it used to get a "WHERE are they?" now gets an "IGNORE" or no response even though there are conversations going on.

  16. Yeah, I know. It sucks for all. I long for the days when you could have conversations going all around the clock, and like you said, people would come back wanting to go get the fool that dared to enter our game space.
