    Hey,

    Yes, you might think now "Hey, there already is a crafting system thread", and yeah, i know, so the full credit of inspiration therefor goes to ∞§†ØÑΣMΔ§ØÑ∞ :) In this idea i want to cover several change ideas to the current assembly system, i want to suggest several new items and drops from NPC's and also want to go for new mechanics in the assembly system. Without further talking, let's getting started!

    Warning: The text might contain typos and grammatical errors. The credit goes to my correction program... my English is pretty good however :)

    The Assembly-system - A look at the current system
    The current assembly system is quite simple and mostly dedicated to events. Why dedicated you ask? The reason is quite evident: A lot of players were complaining about several designs and cosmetics/Items being mostly payment based, therefor leaving no choice but grabbing into the pocket rather deeply for a cosmetic. The assembly-feature was introduced with several special items at the beginning but pretty basic ones outside of it which you can mostly buy via the market/auction. Now during events we get some ways of obtaining special designs and cosmetics, a lot of them aren't even available via payment or shop. This brings me to the conclusion that the assembly system is mostly dedicated to events.

    Even if this is a nice gesture from Bigpoint i really must admit it kinda 'failed'. We have the assembly feature, we have the drops but it's not really impulsive enough to really farm for something. The drop rates are rather low for items which have a high forging cost. I farmed for full 2 hours just for scrap, the result was 8 scraps. A low quantity for a high amount of time if we think about that quite a few items go above 1000 scrap. Obtaining something for free should be linked to work but not ridiculously high amounts of time spend and at end not even getting it due to bad luck. This is why i want to suggest my own version of an assembly system. Keep in mind this idea is completely written from my head, so if i screw up some parts, blame my mind, not me :)

    The Assembly-system - the new system
    My assembly feature imagination is both complex and easy to understand. It's not just a thing that's there and well maybe you use it sometime, but rather an option that you need to use sometime by offering more items, more possibilities and more ways of obtaining something. It is bound to many parts of the game: Quests, NPC's, leveling up, ranking and more! The crafting system should become an essential part of the game and not just a way of obtaining event items. What i want to say is: yeah, we do have this feature as it is now but it doesn't really add anything useful into the game... Because of that... Ladies and gentleman, here is Assembly 2.0!

    The first thing you hopefully notice is a change of the UI from a more or less complicated and unsorted UI to a simple, easy to understand and way better sorted UI. Besides of looking simple, you also receive multiple windows, each of them having stuff like: Blueprints, Components, Items and Event Items. I wanted this because this would sort stuff better... If i want components i go into the components window, if i want event items i go into the event items window and so with the other two. But now, the explanation:

    Blueprints - a rather new way of crafting
    Blueprints are... not really craftable items but rather something you can Research. Yes, with my own UI imagination i actually want to bring up an opportunity to research blueprints you obtain and making it far more interesting to craft items. Blueprints can be found by leveling up, from NPC's, as quest rewards and some are already there and just require a simple researching. But, what exactly is a research in darkorbit's case? Research uses basic resources, time and credits to create a craftable item. That means you can obtain a blueprint but you can not instantly create it but you have to research it first. This can come in handy to give players the opportunity to access items they were not able to access before by simply playing the game!

    Components - We know them, we (maybe) hate them
    Yes... the components... Nano condenser and all those components you need to craft another item. I thought putting them in an extra window would clear up the items a bit. Simple and useful, in my opinion even required for less confusion for newer players (yes, i already saw new players creating a component and asking afterwards what this is for).

    Items
    Items like designs, ammo, weapons, entire ships and *cough* crafting-only items... Yes, there will also be grinding based items but don't worry, the drop chances are also increased with this idea! In this window you will be able to create items you researched and obtained. (yes, even though i'm talking about completely new stuff i only prepared existent stuff so far)

    Event items
    To sort stuff even better, Items and event items will be separated to give those players who hunt for event-stuff only an opportunity to see all the event-only stuff.

    Sorting and filtering features
    We also receive 2 very *cough* unique and never used before options *cough* to sort our stuff better!

    - Hide obtained items -> Obviously: hides obtained items.
    - Show craftable items only -> Simply removes items from the list you cannot build yet.

    Drop changes and chance changes, additions
    As i mentioned already i want to give the drops a change. The current drop chances are VERY low considering the high amounts of components you need for some items. Yes, we do have to link special stuff to work, but work doesn't mean investing the half week into farming. With this being said, i'm pleased to suggest the new drop rates AND changes:

    First of all, my change suggestion are quantities! I want to include all those resources in cargo boxes alongside with the regular resources, and usually in quantities of up to 3. Why? I feel like the drop is already luck itself... so even if we would increase the drop chances to 100% for ubers, it would still require up to several hundreds and thousands enemies to kill to obtain certain items. Higher quantities could fix this. Yes, the chances are still rather "low" but not below 10% for certain enemy types.

    Also: Bosses have a +150% Chance of dropping resources compared to normal ones and Ubers have a +300% Chance of dropping resources compared to normal ones.

    ==Scrap==
    2% chance streuner
    8% chance Saimon
    12% chance Mordon
    20% chance devolarium
    8% Interceptor
    12% Saboteur
    18% Barracuda
    24% Annihilator
    30% Battleray

    ==Mucosum==
    4% chance Lordakia
    20% chance Lordakium
    300% Chance Emperor lordakium

    ==Plasmids==
    12% Devolarium
    20% Sibelon
    300% Chance emperor Sibelon

    ==Prismatium==
    15% Chance Kristallin
    30% Chance kristallon
    300% Chance emperor Kristallon

    ==Aurus==
    5% Chance interceptor
    8% Chance barracuda
    15% Chance saboteur
    24% Chance annihilator
    50% Chance battleray

    Those are the drop changes so far, i hope they look okay because i think it is. With this being said, let's head over to the next point!

    Assembly additions and more items to craft
    We only have a few items to craft, yet there is nearly no useful item so far we could really build. Instead, the most of them are quickly purchased via auction. I want to change this and add more items into the crafting table, including cloak CPU, LF3 Laser, BO2 shields and the best speed generators which's name i always forget. Let's start with the already available items you can research and craft right from the beginning. I also cover all new items later.

  2. The crafting system should be everything 100% it takes along time to make anything and even with 100% drop chances still would take a while cant craft something that will take u years to make.
