  1. I would like to suggest a custom and Exclusive map for the newbies who just registered into the game.

In the past version of the game, there is a map that a newbie is spawned at when they play the game, it gives out instruction to the player to kill off the aliens near the friendly ship, and instructs you to repair your ship and fly with an escort of goliaths to a portal, after that you are sent to your home map.

What if, all the newbies in the game are sent to a specific type of map and that is only exclusive to players who have just registered in the game, and all the missions will be in sequence, and they dont need to choose the missions, it will automatically be given to them from the start so that other players who abuses and is pushing will have a hard time creating many accounts.

After they finished all the missions with all the goodies from it, a new type of portal that will only show up on that map that they can only jump at too, and then they are sent to their home map and given all the perks from before like 2 weeks premium, 10k uridium and stuff, but maybe change that into 2 weeks premium, 4 sets a newbie drone design which will increase damage to NPCs by a small amount and increase exp gains, a 10 set of LF-3s, 5 sets of Shield B02, 10 sets of G3N-7900, 5k x4 ammo, 7.5k x3 ammo, 10k x2 ammo, 2k PLT-2021s, and a CPU for a newbie gate that will fish them with a shiny LF-4 to give them the will to play the game further without having killed on lower maps easily just using their small ship.

All the missions of course will give Experience, Some few Honor, but mostly will give out Ammo, Elite equipment and a few irises to make them a good start in the game where most of the maps are filled with noob bullies who cant kill players on uppers and just hunt out on lowers.

    Benefits of the Newbie Map:
    • The starting Entrance in the game should be in their liberator, entering a small gap of zone (specifically should be debris) and then seeing a damaged ship and knowing the player himself that he just stepped into a fleet battle, lots of goliaths, surgeons, role ships etc. shooting each other on the side of the map that are functioned and are NPCs, so that the newbie would be entertained to see them fight, then rescuers would see them, and escort them out of the battle field.
    • After the introduction, the player will be prompt to jump off the portal by clicking the jump function or pressing J jump hotkey in the game, and then transferred to the newbie map for further details and explanation of how the game works.
    • Every mission in the newbie map will reward the player with uridiums, and other elite items so that to fill up atleast their goliath ship with the elite items, and additional equipment are bidded in the auction.
    • They will be instructed on how the backpage works, what is Upgrades tab, what is skylab, what is the use of auction, and if the vouchers tab has any use at all in the game :)
    • Explains what are Galaxy Gates, Bonus Boxes, Palladiums, the pirate map and every aliens in the game.
    • Instructs players to do the basic and most common commands and functions in the game in a mission map which will be isolated from other players but will be escorted and instructed by some NPC ships such as goliaths, vengeance and other elite ships in the game.
    • Giving them a chance to be that type of ship for a short while, until they finish a mission specific for that ship (for example, making them play as a lightning vengeance, using the ability to reach a certain coordinate on the map for a time limit, teaching them about the abilities of the elite ships in the game so they wont be confused when they own it after they have owned them on booty, bidded on auction, or purchased it at shop)
    • Giving tips such as using an EMP in tight situations, or ISH to prevent them from being killed when jumping out or nearly popping an enemy that has a little bit more of hp and advantage in the battle.
    • Making them use all of the tech items, and emps, ish, smart bombs, ice rockets and ammo, explaining how it all works and what are the special effects and visuals they will know and see in the game after producing and using it.
    • Giving them a chance to use some of the formations in a battle, of course it will be a mission so it will have retrieved from them after the mission.
    • Enabling them to use a ship with a full set of drone designs and explaining them how it works.
    • The Missions given to the newbies will also explain how important Premium membership, Doubler, Rebate and such in the game, so they would pay off some few money to boost up in the game, for example, rebate gives off 25% discount to uridium bought items, premium membership makes players log off for 5 seconds, x2 repair bot effectiveness, faster reloads on rockets, free repairs on ship and P.E.T and bonus box doubler for collectin bonus boxes, gving them valuable uridium and extra energy spins for gates etc.
    • The player is required to finish the missions given to them beforehand, if they have not yet completed it, they won't be able to get out of the map.
    • The goal of this thread is to make newbies equipped, ready and know what they will face to the unknown places out on their home maps, they know the basics, well equipped and can fight back from other players in their same level if they were to be attacked by a rival company or their same company mates.
    • They will only given a few levels in advance so they can have access to x-2~x-4 maps and will have to work their way up to level so they can access the upper maps which better income and deadlier battles awaits.
Players who are bored easily will surely wont be much bored when they get interested after the introduction of the game, of course D.O should do that if they want more players to come back in the game.

I know this is a lot of work for D.O to make but it is only "and" the best way to introduce the game to other people who has not yet played it, and to invite in the old players to play the game.

  2. Although the game is beginner-friendly (in understanding the introduction), every explanation is helpful especially
Besides you can rip of their wallets at the end. IMO it's better to teach them everything ingame and not in the forum, only a small percentage looks and searches here.

  3. I like this idea. Players are rushed straight into the game with a little intro now. Its not even like it was a few years before but they do have some good things going on in the beginning. This idea would even make the start better explaining what should be known instead of them having to find the forums and the dark orbit bible after starting up.

  4. The point is, the game itself at first is not beginner friendly in terms of having players on the global chat asking for what do i do with this, how do i do that, my hand is stuck on a toaster etc.

The idea of my post and goal is to prevent players from rushing too early into the game, thinking that "hey, my friend got a venom from his first booty, maybe ill try spending more uri to waste" and then he gets sad because he didn't know that there was only a small chance of getting the design, and now he regrets it.

My idea explains everything from using CTRL key as the laser attack command, to "How booty boxes work" and also, should be directing them to the forums for some few questions.

Additional Info would be introduced by experienced player on global chat and/or TS that is outside range of the game's reach.

i know, but the thing is, they get easily bored, so just feed them up with some few goodies that they get and they will stay for a few more introduction, and if they dont finish the mission given to them, they wont get out of the beginners map.

  5. Lets be honest there is a lot of time to put in this game (e.g. LF-4's, upgrades, Uri, more uri, killing, quest,) To the people that are ahead may think its easy until your in the new players place.

    Server selection.
I know that some games have the Intro before server selection. When a new player makes their account they spawn not in a server but in a story mode map where they are alone with a mini base. They will be given the elite equipment and all the stuff they need for the regular maps. Some of the quest could give them some parts for the assembly as well. When they get done with the story mode they will be given a simple activity chart on each server in their region. The chart will help them decide what server they want to play on.

    Price/Resource reduction.

For the first few levels they will be given a welcoming gift to help them get more equipment and eventually allowing them to do their first gate. The gate would be given for a quest and the gate reward would be a havoc, herc, and a LF-4.

Thats just some ideas that I have.

  6. I haven't thought of that because it would be "unfair" for others, but i think giving them the havoc, herc, and LF-4 beforehand would be a great idea, but still not removing the first time guaranteed reward from zeta and epsilon where 1 havoc and 1 lf4 is given for each respective gate, but the herc itself is hard to get on kappa and there is no such thing as first time guaranteed reward on the gate and would be difficult for a normal FE to venture around (the boss kucurbium wave, the 6 boss lordakium waves are tough for an FE without spending ammo)

and it also depends to D.O if they had enough giving out too much freebies for the players, but thats how you invite players, its not like you can trade all the acquired equipment to another account anyway, so maybe if the player quit then thats it, thats alright because nothing will change, the equipment will stay there

  7. We used to get this type of information in the game (when there were players protecting the lowers) but now it is not happening. As D O evolves into this PAY to PLAT game they are heading towards, they are going to have to address this issue sometime in the near future. The new beginners training system hits on the basic fundamentals of attacking and killing an NPC but does not cover any of the defensive maneuvers or possible offensive stances, it does make you a level 5 player when you complete the cycle of "duties". I think the idea is great and if they made the missions up to level 10 be completed on a "starter system" and have them explore the servers of their region (USA West, USA East, Europe East, Europe West) and then make a decision at the completion of the "Training System" of what server to join as a level 10 player. This would remove all need of anything on the x-1 maps, except for the enemy missions to kill Streuners, but BB's would not need to be spawned on these maps any more, and the Ore could still be spread out in there for the people wanting to collect without fear of being attacked by other players. It is also very nice to be able to teach people the importance of knowing how everything works and the benefits of everything, instead of having some smart mouth making fun of a guy trying to learn the game from chat. I know I got so lost in the forums when I first started I could never find what I was looking for and gave up the search more than finding the needed answers to the questions I had. One advantage I did have was my roommates got me involved in the game so I did have others I could ask questions of without needing to rely on the answers from complete strangers.

That idea sounds good too. But in the beginning of some games they give you an opportunity to choose between the most valuble things in the game for example in DO they can make after the story mode to choose for example between: 2lf4 ,2havocs ,2herc, 8iris some amount of ee, 15 lf3s that kind of thing. Or can give you lets say 1 month after you began in one server but then you found out that is unpopulated or too populated and cant participate in events to change the server or missclicked while decieding which server you want to enter. I think either they merge ervers or give you the oppurtunity to change in an other server, for example 10-15k uri to change to other server or -5% honor and -10% exp

it wont work, instead will bring a negative impact upon each servers that can be switched, and also newbie players or experienced players who started a new and fresh acc knowing they can switch servers, would go to unpopulated servers, bid all the things they need, drag all the resources into their cargo, dig up all the uridiums they can acquire in order to get strong, then switch out to the populated servers and that would make an imbalance towards the economy of every server, its like picking off the good slices of pizza from every box and eventually leaving others to have all the ugly thin, smaller slices of pizza, aint that make you sad if you were one of them?

the majority of the players in the game are mostly FE and SUB-Ultra Elite, in other words, if they find their own server difficult, they will just switch server, wreck havoc on to noob's territories, and get all the things they want to get and eventually leaving all other servers empty, exactly what D.O does not want to happen because they would be spending maintenance on a server that has no players, closing it in, and making the space tight and it might overload their servers, other players might get too much lag, so D.O entirely needs to have their own CLIENT and another program to use instead of FLASH, because FLASH does not fit for this criteria, MMORPG, its massive so it means so many players clumping into each other on 1 place especially when there is an event, eventually low spec computers or laptops (like mine) wouldn't even survive even crazy cubes is now hopeless even if im premium because of the lag.

  10. The biggest point you missed was this was a LIMITED TIME OFFER to NEW players only. However, these points are the reason I suggested they were allowed to visit the servers of their region to see what they looked like and allow them to make an informed decision of which server they wanted to join. As this would be a "training" MAP they would be reminded to take notes of which server they liked as they would be given one chance to choose the server they wanted to play after completing the training portion of the introduction to Dark Orbit.

But then this is years from even being seen, if they decide to run with it. And will take another year to clean the bugs out of it before it really does any real good for the game.

  11. ahh yes, i did not fully understand his post, my apologies.

I have lost hope for D.O's development in the economy, the new comers and other bugs, glitches existing in the game even on the barracuda kami bug on pirate maps, its been years since people reported that issue, still not fixed, they keep saying "Our team is trying their best to fix the problem" we are tired to know that from you support, believe me.

If this is implemented, it would be a great come back for D.O from the graveyard, lots of players would come and play and those old timers will come and check it out, if players are impressed and they want to progress further in the game, they would just go and pay money to have a perk in the game, not paying because it is too hard for them to progress and improve in the game but paying because D.O have made them satisfied in the game (ofcourse mainly to progress much faster and further in the game without too much time spent)

D.O should make the players satisfied and happy, they will just go and pay up if they feel it (i just hope so)

for examle i really want to change servers cuz i entered the wrong server 6 years ago..but then there were period of times where spaceball was running all day long or even weekend..but now i cant even participate on spaceball or crazycubi( although its too laggy)..cuz of the 7 hours difference.
I see what you mean, but as HelpMeHelpYou said this is years from even being seen but it would be good if they somehow "rerun" their game and fix a lot of years old bugs and theb release a sort of this good idea.
Hopefully they make something like this soon, it would be great but they wont listen to us until its too late :)

  13. May I reiterate the SWITCH would be an immediate thing not an option to be exercised at a later point in time. This would be done within 7 days of completing the training map and as such they would not be able to get too many credits to do as you say they will as they do not have the SkyLab fully functional and thus do not have the credit mill running well enough to make a difference. Besides what you are complaining about a person can do with cash from buying starter packs, much cheaper and faster.
