  1. Right, seeing as I'm such an old school player & have played lots of interesting 'Space themed' arcade games in the past. I have been thinking (& suggested it before) about a really amazing idea that the DEV team should have implemented into this game a long, long time ago...
    Keep reading to find out:
...Okay, I cannot emphasize enough upon this idea and I'm afraid you'll have to use your imagination a bit!
    Topic:
In previous post's players have (signs of the times) pointed out that greedy ufe players dont really help 'newbs' & like to 'grab stuff' for themselves'...
Well, let's go back over 30 years to an arcade game that I played in my local chippy with my brother...It was called <<SIDE ARMS>>>. It was a two player rolling screen space game.
    ..Fast forward to today!
Dark Orbit has Iimplemented group outifts where players play together and gain a bit of a reward, this idea is brilliant, although it has probably been exhausted, in comparison to such a game as Side Arms it is nowhere as interactive!

...Let me explain a bit more about how Side Arms worked!...You play along with player two; lets say you are happily shooting aliens until you get to the end of the level, then it allows P1 & P2 to latch on to eachother (so now in terms of gameplay you have a bigger stronger ship that looks different, hence an epic look; rockets/lazer ammo is tranformed into fat badd ass ammunition in order for you to face & defeat ((hopefully)) an epic boss)..To add, whilst the players are now linked (P1& p2): Player one shoots & player two guides the ship (in terms of DO)....
The whole scenario and feel was so exciting that nobody ever got bored... :D
Even a well tuned veteran (ufe) would agree that they would want to take part in something as interactive and epic as this...

My message to the DEV team is implent a similar idea along the lines of this original idea & you will have players flocking to help out eachother...You could make this work with several players forming a type of mothership..Or let's say a low level player & high level player only scenario. This means more powerful multiplayer ships & interaction that only becomes apparent when ships/players of certain levels combine..e.t.c (Use your imagination remember;))...This idea could be cool, calculated & balanced for a more productive community of players on Dark Orbit...o_O

Last point, research 'classic space arcade games' There are so many hidden gems in these OLD SCHOOL games!!!
