[UI] Botters Drones

Hi Guys
any chance you can re instate the drones being lost by players cheating the system ..we used to be able to hurt them this way which would discourage them...and it made it costly to them ..all good for the legit honest players

Drones still take dmg you kill the enough and the drones will pop so go ahead kill as much as you can just dont brag about it in chat cause then you might targetted by admin and cited as pushing

 

After seeing the post you made in the Bots and Cheats thread, I'm assuming you mean that bots drones no longer get destroyed. This is because the bot programs they are using(or at least some) are now repairing the drones if damage to them gets too high, their drones aren't magically protected or anything. (would be silly to suggest BP was protecting their drones, like it seemed you suggested at least more clearly in your other post)

Which even at the lowest drone level I think you can still repair drones, so basically to be able to destroy bots drones again would need to change that. Like say once you have had to drop two drone levels due to repairing them, the drones will be destroyed. That being said it takes a lot of deaths to do that much damage to drones, but it would need to be a change at least like that. Otherwise players that don't use bots or anything, could find they can lose drones quite easily if they don't pay more attention to their drones.


So I'm not quite sure what can be done about this without impacting players too much, cause drones shouldn't be able to be destroyed too easily. Or in other words other limitations/situations that drones will pop due to it, cause then it could be an annoyance for it to be like that.

Though of course with this being said, even if they are botting you shouldn't use them for pushing purposes(unless you want to risk being punished for pushing).

Like I said in the bots & cheats thread, I really don't get where this idea that botters drones are "safe" suddenly comes into play.

This is a PvP game, just be sensible when you're out hunting enemies as to not just pop one ship some dozen times* in a row etc. If the dev team are going to change whether or not drones can be destroyed I would expect we get some notification and announcement about it.
