[UI] Bringing the game back to life

Hello, i was talking with Jupiter earlier and he/she told me i should post my ideas on forum to see what players/devs would think.

1st idea to bring some players back and make it more of a competition is the idea of server wars, for example GB2 v GB1 or GA1 v GE1 winner goes on to vs another server, just like how they do in football competition, someone is bound to say its not possible to do that but it is since its basically UBA but on a larger scale, the server that wins could get a reward like 50% more uri from ncps, this sounds a lot but its only gonna be 1 server out of them all and will encourage players to not only want to speed things up to become powerful on their server but to overcome players on other servers

I was thinking 10 players from each server can sign up to participate for the event, those that sign up get chosen from random so mix it up a little bit and to make it more of a challenge.

The second idea is to start advertising on tv again( which is what make me join the game) but with a better offer than a bigboy and some flax this time. I think a good idea would be a fe account with a month of prem, i know this idea will get some hate because of people that worked for an fe account, but lets be serious the players that join the game get given a piranha and a few items with it, there is no chance they are gonna be able to compete against UFE players or even FE really. I have been looking at other servers and the most active ive seen are turkish ones so maybe they have more adverts for players in turkey or something

All in all I like the idea - as for the free FE account, well I honestly think it wont be a big deal since we all know it takes at most a week or two to reach that level in today's game, although I doubt BP would ever do that. Regarding advertising I believe that would be crucial to the game's survival since I have never seen DO advertised anywhere(probably because I live in a small country, far from the USA) so the lack of players comes as no surprise to me. +1 from me to sum it up

 

bp would rather the game die than do anything to make it better, if it dies naturally all of our accounts die with it, however if its put to sleep by bp there would be questions raised as to how much people could claim back

 

*Rob9614* thats actually is a good idea but i doubt that BP gonna actually advertise there game on the TV. how ever if they do advertise it on TV they gonna have to do it more then just once because not everybody is watching TV on the same day.

 

wouldnt be BP that died, turk servers have enough people to keep it going easily, they will just make an excuse to join servers or close them down

 

Sounds like TDM renamed SDM . It should be server vs. server no limits on players joining it. Basically just raiding another severer is more like it . Think about a few of ya on another server and trying to poof the other servers stuff. DO needs to make quests for this to force players to join and participate . Imagine the other servers screaming in chat that another servers players are HERE poof 'em is the raider

 

Full server vs server wouldnt be fair, gb2 has about 100 players on it, not much chance we would win against a global server lol

 

merge the servers,

 

merging the servers will make loads of people quit, people who chase rank wouldnt be happy, and cubing would be a lot harder

agreed saw Do in a seperate page someone made that said top 10 space games there ad is just poor but thats bc there not willing to even invest the money anymore like before ads get put on by the kindness of a "donation" competition is strong if you dont wanna pull out your wallet then you dont care.

 

Even if they advertised on youtube it would be cheaper than on tv and loads of people would see it

 

All sounds fair and well but events like these won´t ´´bring the game back to life´´. Most players will not benefit from the tournament as they are far from strong enough. Moreover: a tournament like this will most likely only be held once a month. Eventually we need to confine ourselves to the core of darkorbit getting more boring. OP updates and the big difference between Pay to win, and free to play. You could play this game for a year, bank 25 euro's every month and still be nothing compared with the top. That is what needs to change otherwise there won't be any new players and then older players will leave because they've got nothing to shoot at.

advertising would help a little bit but people wouldent stay on the game once they figured out how it is...

 

Server raids - If the mods can raid our maps why can't a server raid another server

 

No the problem is people have lives they cant give hours of game time each day to get anywhere,things are to expesive and even with sales there not helpful when there rare DO needs to add a trade system where one could sell to others what they dont need or want it,with a credit controlled system of course everyone could rise up so much faster just so much and then the maps would not be so dusty theres no real motivation and thats what making people fade things where so simpler back in the day so much fun so many plyers so much joy daily company raids bmaps was just a warzone *sigh*

 

an option to donate lf3s would be decent to help players get fe, not lf4s though as they are to op

 

they definitely really need to do some advertising, but they need more noob safety because theres not enough SAFE ways to get fe without being annihilated. after fe this game is almost manageable, but it has to be easy to get that far or people wont bother to get farther

 

For the potential servers to be merged get the server raids to each other as a test tryout for a merge.
