[UI] BUFF to drone formations

    Formations like barrage look amazing, but are totally outmatched. I'd be nice to see a change in formations like that.
     
  2. Pincer, dome, bat, heart to an extent, double arrow to an extent.

    Turtle
    Turtle literally brings more downsides than benefits. And it's very heavily outmatched by heart formation for instance. Yes, credit formations shouldn't be all powerful, but we have a massive imbalance between drone formations.

    I think Turtle formation should give +25% shield and reduce your laser and rocket damage by 7% to be a low-tier version of ring formation.

    Barrage
    Literally useless as you sacrifice a lot of your given benefits, while you could use so much more beneficial formations such as drill or bat.

    5% NPC damage and experience gain, plus 5% damage reduction from NPC damage, as a downside, let's have 10% decrease in honor gains.

    Dome
    Kinda just going to suggest what was supposed to come:
    • Shield bonus increased from +30% to +40%.
    • Shield regeneration increased from +0.5% to +1.5%.
    • Laser damage reduction reduced from -50% to -30%.
    • Speed reduction reduced from -50% to -15%.
    Pincer
    Honestly, just make it 7% increased PvP damage and honor gains.

    Double Arrow
    shield loss should be lowered to 15%, maybe even just 10%

    Diamond
    Little trivia, but let fusion shields increase it's regeneration and it's regeneration cap by the bonus provided by fusion shields. Downsides is less shield obviously.

    I feel like Crab should be added to this just because of its speed reduction...
    It's great against NPCs so that they only hit your shields and you don't need your speed for that purpose.
    If you were to use it against someone using Moth, your speed is a major disadvantage. Perhaps remove the speed decrease so that it can compete in PvP.
    I always thought DO put Crab in the game so that Moth had a counter. It defeats the purpose if your enemy can easily overrun and outrun you
     
  5. I have to disagree with this. Crab completely counters Moth's benefits, and the 5% per second shield drain that Moth suffers puts your opponent at a huge disadvantage if they keep using it.

    I personally think Crab is fine, but I would like to see Moth adjusted. It is far too good at melting through people's hit-points during certain PvP encounters, and I've often said that Moth should provide one shield penetration bonus against players, and another stronger bonus for aliens.

    Any decent player uses Moth when they are trying to finish an enemy or in a Suicide configuration. In both situations, their shield is almost never at risk. A player in Moth can easily escape if they're in danger of destruction. Crab is left waiting for the right moment to switch and run if that moment ever comes.
    I do completely agree with the alternative bonus against NPCs, but I highly doubt it will get that.

    the melting through HP has been partly solved by giving most ships a HP buff.
