With the success of Clash of Clans and the recently Clash Royale, the game itself is fast moving ahead and Darkorbit needs to keep up with that if it wants to survive for the next 5 to 10 years.

I would suggest the following below to be done instead of this Assembly thing and other non-attractive innovations that they have done before. In order to understand the below suggestions, one must first learn to understand how to play Clash Royale of Supercell.

    1. Copy the same trophy-like level up in rankings like in Clash Royale. Rankings will be based on trophies. This way, a player may loose or gain rankings and will be ranked and fight equally levelled players. I think you know what I mean.

    2. Current Experiences and Honors can be converted to to be added on Hull and shield respectively. This is similar to Clash Royale where Tower and Castle hulls depend on experiences gained in the game.

    3. There will be a daily bonus such as Uridium, raw materials and credits that will rewarded to the players just like a chest where he can collect some raw materials for the Assembly. This is again similar in Clash Royale.

    4. Put back the original Title setup just like before. This way, players will be more excited and enggaged on possessing these as an achievement. Now, Titles are nothing unlike before when you want to pop someone because in order to get that. Leave the new achievements for personal view only.

    5. Put back the JPB in live audience or in Twitch. Learn from Supercell where they broadcast a live streaming of players on competitions.

    6. I still have more but I think that this is enough for now.

    7. For Darkorbit developers especially Rick Dekard, please read this speech from Nokia´s CEO and maybe you will learn something.

Please take note that these are all suggestions. You are free to comments.

This would be exploited by the dominant clans pushing the game further out of balance.

CoC and Dark Orbit are two different games. The life-span of Dark Orbit isn't contingent on whether it successfully rips off Clash of Clans too.

  4. Comparing games is not an avenue I care to follow. Different types of games have different goals and objectives. IF comparing a space game to a space game you might be comparing an orange to a tangerine, but it is still not the same.

IF D O were to follow other games then things like Clan WARS would be gone from the game. You would not be allowed to have MCC clans as you would have to be loyal to the COMPANY. New players would be forced to understand PvP is not attacking any Player they see but would have to be a RED Dot player. The HUNTERS would have to kill their FRIENDS instead of their own company players.

I do agree that attention to what other games are doing to retain player activity does need to be looked at and adapted to other games but the issues with D O is they are trying to COMPETE with what the others are doing instead of dealing with issues in their game making it annoying to play any longer. Items like DDoS attacks, server lock outs, Bugs and Glitches that never seem to get resolved, the imbalance of the game strengths and gap between the FREE and WALLET players, Event missions that take forever to complete for little rewards, these all effect how a player perceives the game and need to be looked at.

I would rather see D O repeat last years Events and fix the bugs and glitches, add security to prevent DDoS attacks, and provide a stable platform to play, than to have them add things like Assembly/Crafting and In-Game Equipping as we know when these are added they are going to add even more bugs to the game.

The TEAM has already stated they are fighting OLD Code (TWITCH STREAM #1 or #2) with these additions, so why not work on creating a NEW platform for the entire game and get rid of the current conflicts, I would think it would be less time consuming than correcting NEW code to fit the OLD platform (was this not what they did when they changed the A I in 2011-2 or why did they not do it when they launched "Reloaded" in 2014).

These improvements that I mention seem to be a smarter action than to try to incorporate other game structure into ours.

this guy has the best idea. they need to rebuild from scratch. especially since flash is going to be killed soon, due to its many huge security flaws, they need to switch the game to HTML5 before the game gets shut down or at best turn into a giant mess because they didnt think ahead and change systems before the old system gets dropped.

also this game only needs to have 2 things in common with Clash of Clans- method of monetization, and advertising

everyone knows about clash of clans, especially after that 3 million $ superbowl ad. no one has a clue this game exists except the few who play it, but i must say, they need to change monetization before they do advertising because the current way the game is no noob is willing to stick around.

i can think of 2 ways they could fix monetization,
1, leave the drone designs (the decorative ones) a $ only purchase. they have no effective purpose therefore have no effect on balancing. also basically all decorations could get the same treatment, and for the free players they could be available as an event mission. that way they still have a hope of getting them but temporarily enough to still get bigpoint a few paychecks
2 the new crafting system, it has its flaws, but it has potential. one way to monetize this game is by applying the CoC kind of timer to the items crafted. the item will 100% be their item when it finishes, with 0 chance of failure, or players will only ignore the system. but if you add a timer, with say.. upgrade credits, 1 credit equal to each hour the upgrade requires, then sell upgrade credits in the shop, people will buy those credits out of impatience, while free players will just wait it out. also keep in mind, even a MAX upgrade in CoC takes less than 2 weeks. so keep wait times to scale.

  6. I really appreaciate all your feedbacks. I now remember one thing about this game that made me played it for quite some time and that is to make it like the early days of Darkorbit. I want to play it again like before when I used to battle with someone for 30 seconds. Now 10 seconds is short if you battle a UFE. Where is the excitement of this game anymore?

The game is slowly dying that is why I wanted this game to keep up with the current trends but I still like the idea of the old Darkorbit with the twist of the Royale Clash Rewarding, Ranking Systems, and marketings like real-time tournaments.

"The advantage you have yesterday, will be replaced by the trends of tomorrow. You don’t have to do anything wrong, as long as your competitors catch the wave and do it RIGHT, you can lose out and fail.

Those who refuse to learn & improve, will definitely one day become redundant & not relevant to the industry. They will learn the lesson in a hard & expensive way." - Ziyad Jawabra

  7. If you watch the Twitch feed back, they do state that they have been fighting legacy code but the 3D client and new assembly feature are being used to sepercede that code and will make it easier to build on in the future.

  8. Thank you .[NightMare]., however, since there are so many problems with the Legacy code, why not get rid of it completely? I understand when B P bought D O from the original designers and subsequently drove them out of the development of the game they retaliated using a backdoor they installed, trying to disrupt the entire game dynamics. I am curious if Recent DDoS attacks are not just a continuation of this type of action (word of Youzu getting involved)? Or if there would be a better way to protect the game from things like the DDoS attacks, Flash Crashing, In-Game Connection Issues (lost connection while buying fuel for my PET yesterday), and all other game stability problems being reported daily in the forums, by creating a completely NEW platform around the 3D, Assembly, and Hangar features instead of continuing to use the unstable Legacy code of yesteryear? I am sure this is the cause of many of the Bugs/Glitches seen with every NEW addition to the game and with the removal of the Legacy code we might see a smoother game along with a more stable server population. There is a reason people leaving the game call it "Glitch Orbit" and speak out against anyone thinking about checking it out. By doing this it would also put the Botters out of business for a little while as the entire code would have changed and they would have to create completely NEW programs, but if the connection portal was a downloaded access point would prevent the use of third party software in itself, game would no longer require a browser for connection and the ISP and graphics card would be the only thing to create LAG for the player.

  9. HelpMeHelpYou,

Your 'understanding' is simply a rumour and as such very unhelpful. Connection issues are being worked on with the input of helpful players providing useful information. If you are having such issues then please do write to support who will advise you. Also 'lag' is not a DO exclusive problem and not always under their control as the internet is a very complicated place.

As the game producer already stated in the Twitch feeds, they are redesigning the game to make it easier to fix these problems and, when the EIC goes live, they expect many to disappear (I do believe that is actually typed up in the transcript SolidEye and I worked to produce).

As for having a standalone client being the solution to bots, there are many downloadable games with powerful bots. Yes they would have to rewrite new software but it would soon return to the cat and mouse situation we have now. The bot detection system does remove players regularly and this is evident from the posts support ask us to publish as well as some of the names that have disappeared from the rankings.

I really hope you read the carefully considered answers above and understand them as, not an argument, but as the explanations and reassurance that they were meant to be. The information and answers to your mostly valid points are there to be found.

on a side note, could you give us a timeframe for the updates? weeks? months? after the game is shut down?

  11. No we have no timeframe as yet. Please keep on topic though for now and allow the OP to reply.

  12. Working top to bottom here, I am definetly against changing practically the essence of the game to fit others. Experience should never be a way to have bigger hull or other..interesting stuff. Helpmehelpyou hits it on the head pretty well. I have personally quit many games that keep adding and adding to them....one...it becomes so complicated that even as a player who only has to learn one new addittion...it becomes annoying...not worth it. Also secondly because this either becomes a money pit if you try to keep up...or impossible because now you have such a high maximum..that new players dont have a chance. More..is not better. The top players cna take the more and make it max. New players see the advantage, but have trouble ever, ever attaining it. I would much prefer seeing lag fixed or some other consistent issue. I was also a BIG fan of the latest gate doubler event, that is a new favorite of mine.

I would be totally against making this a download sort of game, one because...those are ALWAYS annoying...anything from trouble download, to incompatible software, to it hogging RAM somehow, etc. Secondly, there are a ton of people out there moving to stuff like chromebooks, where you cant just download a game. Its chrome, thrid party stuff not allowed right? I ASSUME that means downloading the majority of games, but browser...thats fine. I use chrome for DO and love it.

I personally just laughed at drone designs with no advantage, but was surprised when I saw DO do something about that by adding another slot for just appearance. They should definetly stay as a real money purchase. They are not a pay to win way at all, but they are a profit to keep the game going. Offering them through events just means you lose money, but since I dont spend much..i am not against it :)

My only contribution to the topic of changing the game would be for DO to make health/shield bars, particularly on cubes and players, slightly bigger. Yes, this is mostly my eyes and my computer, but if they could make each bar...25%? bigger even, it would be helpful for me personally...and I am sure other players would not mind...just got easier to tell when their dying more than you, right?
