  1. Rank in this game is calculated based on your "account age," kills (ships, NPCs, etc.), the ship you have, honor and experience points. That's pretty much the main items used.

A players rank SHOULD show off their skill level, and how "good" of a player they really are.
A good way to do this and fix up the game at the same time can be to change rank calculations by doing the following edits:

Remove calculations based on everything BUT player kills, level, and days since registration. Rank should be left to those that PvP, and truly climb up the leaderboards. NOT to those who sit there and click the GG Materializer button over and over again, and smash through gates.

And somewhat of a bonus, the player should only be able to gain rank points by destroying players of levels lower than yours by 2 and above.

So if you are a level 20 player, you will be able to get RP from players 18+.

    Reason why?

Player levels from 1-10 are still new to the game. 11-15 shows improvement and better understanding. 16-18 is where players will try out PvP, and explore out more, and should have a full understanding of the game by then. Players 18+ are considered Veterans of the game, since they should have a healthy ability to earn in-game currency (without the help of IRL cash) with the gears they have, and have a high amount of skill. Players still learning shouldn't be interrupted heavily by the high level players.

As for players from level 20+, they can PvP each other and still gain RP, no matter the level difference. So if a level 20 gets destroyed by a level 25, the level 25 player will still gain RP.

NOTE: High level players can still shoot lower level players, except they'll immediately get the message saying, "You will not get any rewards, this player is too weak for you!"
This will not stop the noob bashing, but it should be enough to discourage it.

High level/strength/skilled PvPers should be the ones on the Top 10 spots on the home page, not people who know how to point and click and use next to no skill to destroy NPCs. And this move should discourage noob-bashing. Make ranks more meaningful.

    Yes.
I agree, but I must ask...
    What good is rank?
From what I have seen, it is no better than a large or larger feather in a virtual hat.
It doesn't offer better shields or weapons or even advance access to the new ones.
It doesn't offer additional abilities in ships or bio.
It doesn't offer items like cube "or just alien" generators for dead maps and it doesn't offer any in game measurable perks.

Seems to me the higher the rank of the pilot the more civilized they should be.
Clan war or open challenge should be the only reason for attacking a pilot more than 2 ranks steps below yours, otherwise it should be punishable by rank loss for employing cowardly actions in the face of the enemy.

The top 10 should only be allowed to offer or accept duel based challenges to be fought in the battle maps in 1v1 combat.
On that note however, penalties should be imposed to all pilots for denied challenges and running from battle in enemy company maps.

Attacking enemy pilots in their home maps more than 2 rank steps below yours, denying challenges to you by your rank level peers or less and fleeing battle in enemy maps should be added to the list of outlaw status penalties.

  3. This went from levels to rank restrictions. Both can be difficult to figure out to a degree. High level players probably know the ranks pretty good. The two can get mushy For example, I am level 18 now but a Basic Lieutenant. With my level of equipment I am still fodder for most players in the game. KS, your idea is sound. Under it, I would have no rank, which trust me, I would be fine with. This type of ranking would help out the new players a lot as players would start wondering if they should really be wasting their ammo and seprom on low level kills that give them nothing. The downside, you know there is always one, is that a lot of players spend uri, bought with cash, to do gates. With this change in the rank point structure, gates productions would really drop unless UFE really want that x4. With that in mind, I see bought uri dropping considerably which would force the devs to return the current rank structure. Maybe they should make ranks for exp levels instead. That would let players know if they are looking at a true noob or a player that has been around for a while.

  4. I personally think the "noob bashing" all us "veterans" took when we were noobs is why we are veterans... we didn't get participation trophies and safe areas, we got our butts shot off and it made us tough, the easy way doesn't make you stronger, it makes you weak

popping enemy in x-1 maps is both weak and cowardly, I remember shooting enemy goli's in a pnut since my better ships were instapopped and spending credits for them bankrupted me continuously.
