[UI] Clan News Improvements

    1. Reviving this for the nth time: http://www.bigpoint.com/darkorbit/board/threads/clan-news-idea.97402/
    2. When a diplomacy change is declared / ended, only show the following (clan / targetclan = other clan), (clanmember = your clan member)
      • War from another clan: "War was declared by (clanname) on your clan"
      • War from your clan: "War was declared by (clanmember) on (target_clan)"
      • War ended: "War ended with (clan) (optional_clanmember)"
      • Alliance Added: "Alliance with (clan) by (clanmember) created"
      • NAP Added: "NAP with (clan) by (clanmember) created"
      • Alliance / NAP Ended: "(Alliance/NAP) ended with (clan) (optional: by (clanmember/clan))
    3. Increase the Clan News size by 20px (the mess that is a background image is from the previous decade...)"
    4. Have an option in the clan news settings for the following:
      • Timestamp w/ Date
      • Timestamp w/ Date + Time [hh:mm:ss]
      • Maximum Character Limit (up to x, x being a system limit)
    5. When a member is kicked from the clan show "(exclanmember) was kicked from clan by (kicker)"

    I've played since 2007 and the Clan set up (apart from CBS) is the only thing on the backpage that hasn't changed. To Bigpoint; clans are a huge part of this game, put some effort in to them.
     
  2. To be honest i think that the clan page must be redesigned from scratch. There is no clear view in those crammed spaces (in the clan text area the window is so narrow and it is hard to read if there are more than two lines) Bp made the game better but .... there are some other areas where hmmm ... let's just say that those places haven't seen a new line of code since the beginning of dark orbit . The pilot page looks awesome why not making the clan page displayed in the same way? I'm aware that there is constant work on this game and that DO is not the only one which BP brings improvements and maybe the clan section of Dark orbit is the last of your problems but : this is a game based also on social skills not only fight. Also the social part keep and helps the noobs to get a a better understanding of the game. And it's more fun playing in groups.
    Here are some of my ideas and critics :

    <Information>
    We have there from top to bottom :
    - clan news: ( tittle need to be edited to clan info or something !!! )there is enough space but the clan logo should be a bit bigger (50% +?)
    - clan text: not enough space ( if i want so write more text or elaborate some heroic epos :D need to scroll down till i grow white bearded
    - clan news: same as clan text and i would suggest to be displayed more like the logbook since there is new info daily
    - clan search

    <Messages>
    -when creating a new message the open window is too small
    -when an enemy clan declare war there is no message to inform you

    <Diplomacy>
    -clan requests: need bigger windows , classification of clans according to diplomatic status (nap, alliance, war)
    -requests : in case of war a formal message is needed
    - request diplomacy :confused: to be honest i think this section is the most crammed of all ; open applications need more options like deleting more than one request at a time, and a standalone window to view all applications. If an diplomacy request is declined ,it should be automatically deleted from the list also all info about accepting/ rejecting a diplomacy request should be posted in clan news feed for a better view

  3. The way I see it, they could drag their feet on an entire overhaul, so I like to start small so they can make a few milestones whilst working towards an entire ground-up rewrite.

  4. lol i agree with you on this one. Usually i go ranting when people come on here talking about updates instead of botters and bugs, but this is actually a big issue that needs discussion.
     
  5. We need to make this big and start big so they take into consideration . I want to say that we make this important, after all clans are an important feature in game and need more attention from Bigpoint. They need a strong reason to start and we need to offer them that , and also a strong base on which to build ; so as many ideas are welcome for this to change.
     
  6. Clans being a core foundation of current gameplay, I definitely agree with this sentiment, the hard part being what exactly do we need from a clan page beforehand, since multiple iterations exist across all of BP's games.
