  1. One of the great frustrations some players feel is that the Multi-company clans dominate the major events like Demaner and Hitac. Even though DO tried to bring some parity in by changing the Demaner this year, the same clans who hogged the Hitac and shot everyone off of it continue to do that with Demaner.

    While this is food for the pay to win crowd, no one else benefits from these events. In fact, it does a lot to drive newer players from the game. Noobs die enough from folks hitting 100k plus and no one in their right mind will want to spend money after getting hit like that several times.

    I have some suggestions for big events.. some alternatives mind you....

    1. Create dual versions of the events... one in uppers and one in lowers. Uppers is for folks over a certain level. Lowers for newer players. The aliens would be in scale to the capabilities of the lesser players including rewards and could be running alternately so it doesn't lag too much. Higher end players cannot do lower map event but upper map event could be available to anyone or anyone over the minimum level.

    2. Rewards given in regard to how much damage done but credited to the player account directly and not in a box that someone can steal. Whatever the box would give, taper the reward to include some of the random items.

    3. Create no-pvp zones around the enemy npc -- all mines and pvp damage disabled but re-activated once the target enemy is killed. Everyone can share in the kill but a nice free-for-all once the thing is dead.

    Giving everyone a more fair opportunity to participate would mute the unfair advantage MCCs have in controlling events. On servers with declining participation like USA East this could rejuvenate interest in the big events. Many players avoid these events due to the selfishness of high-end clans and solo players who drive everyone else off. Either ban MCCs or make the events more accessible for everyone.

    If you want people to stay in the game you can't tell them to spend a thousand bucks just to be able to participate in an event that could be re-engineered to be more inclusive. When you get a taste of what it means to get stronger and can survive better, you feel more likely to hang in there and spend. Nobody but a fool will get killed 100 times in a week and say "hey i should spend $1000 just so I don't die" in a game of limited appeal and encroaching boredom.

    There is just one big problem with the idea and that is level capping for the lowers, an equipment based event would be more balanced.

    Example a level 16 player may have the same equipment as a level 12 player but would have to play the event in the uppers. In today's DO it is not so much your level that counts it is what you have in your hanger and if your UFE or not.
