I'm in favour of removing drone damage.
Correct me if I'm wrong here, I don't want to put false information but when you get your ship popped you actually repair for free.
I just tested it and Repair credits didn't change. Might be a visual bug for me.
If this is the case it doesn't make sense to me to have drone damage.
I remember back then you had to bid on action or buy the ship to get it back every time you couldn't repair it. (there was only one slot/one hangar).
Having the damage on drones is just a pain in the ass to deal with it, removing it doens't reduce the difficulty in game. We also have the CPU we can use(sometimes doesn't work ).

    ]Coldheart[ likes this.
  2. Yes, you can repair the ship for free, however the drones are different. You can use repair credits or the cpu if needed. You can also use uri for iris/apis/zues and credits for flax to make repairs. fyi, you can only use credits and perhaps the cpu for Flax drones.

That said, it is too easy for anyone to claim drone damage does not make sense, and that it is a pain to deal with. So is airing up tires, oil changes, studying for test, and getting out of bed. At the same time, why do you have to play the game? Why do we not just get all the uri we need for free? Why can't BP just give us all the credits/uri we need on all the servers like they do on the test server? Oh wait, even there we have drone damage to check. So basically the drone damage helps keep us grounded. Some games you get a limited number of lives before the game is over. This is basically the same thing, only the game is not over, you just don't have your drones to carry extras/shield/lazers. For most, that is basically game over.

Ok, I am done, if you want me, I shall be Flaxing.

    Fine. I want to explain.

It's a pain to deal with it because we don't have this implemented yet:
    http://www.bigpoint.com/darkorbit/b...ial-darkorbit-revealed-archive.112857/page-88
(be careful here too much radical changes for someone! :D)
Yes, it makes a difference. I don't know how you guys play videogames but I don't play on Windowed Screen, I use Fullscreen for full immersion. Same when I watch a movie etc.
I don't see why I have to stop playing to check my drones. It's an interruption, like closing your game to do something else.
And even if it's a browser game I don't open Facebook, send e-mails in the meanwhile; No, I play.
You want a life example that supports this: you don't stop driving, open the tank and see if there's enough fuel. You can read it while you are driving in real time.
That's what I want at least if they keep the drone damage, real-time check.

"NPC: but Kyber, you can use the CPU if you don't want to deal with it"
Ah sure! Then why this feature is still up if you can use that CPU and forget about drone damage? Does it bring any difficulty to the game?
It made a bit more sense when the CPU was available only for Uri, you had to collect that Uri to ease your job. Now you can buy it for 10k credits.

But as Kyro already pointed out, why do we have to lose items? Are you really a fan of destroying items permanently without getting anything back? If yes, then go ahead and suggest new ideas of how to lose items if you don't check them in time. I want to see how many of the community will take this positively.

And to bring some features devs have already implemented. LF4 and all those items that are viewed as Elite Items are not sellable. These include Apis & Zeus. But on the other side you can get them destroyed for some reason. What were the devs thinking? Can you guess?

I don't think Bigpoint final goal it to get players angry.
You don't lose the Ship and you don't lose the P.E.T. when they are destroyed (<here you can suggest your destructive idea>).
So that's the problem, not the actual progressive damage but losing it at the end.
As the owner of this thread said they can implement something that keeps us engaged and without a destructive end or for a more easy task, remove it for the time being and add later a new feature.
I'm more inclined to just remove it.

Yes, they are two different damage types: one is direct (with no repercussion) the other is gradual that leads to a destructive prospect with each having his own way to repair. I agree.
