  1. Hello everyone. I posted this on Brazil's DarkOrbit Forum but I thought it would get more attention on US Board so here I go...

So, I have about 5hrs of gameplay (1hr daily this week). I won a Leonov on the Auction House as instructed by a certain guide here... I finished the Basic Missions so I went to X-3 (2-3 EIC) to hunt some Mordons & alike then a player from other Company appeared in one of those World Cup ships and destroyed me, I did not lasted 5 seconds. Now I ask you, is it fair that players with MONTHS when not years of experience ahead of you just lurks around your Company backyard, killing novices WITHOUT REASON, NOR THE LEAST CHANCE OF DEFENSE? All you can do is just lie and die. As a new player, I find this very unbalanced and a major wall to the progress of new pilots. Just imagine... you just started to play the game and an old timer "Full Elite" as you call it is just waiting outside for the poor noobies that just got into the game. You are automatically restricted to stay within X-1 & X-2. Why is it bad you may ask? Well, have you seem the post graduation missions? Go kill Y type alien on X-3. Now compare the rewards of a Lordakia and a Saimon. Truly substantial no? My point is, as it is now, new players are stuck on X-2 because predators are lurking around AND YOU HAVE NO CHANCE OF DEFENSE. I would like to invite any of you to make a new free account and play for 5 or more hrs. The game is not welcoming to new players imho. Just make that no PvP is allowed on lower maps, people who just got into the game are basically Streuners beyond X-2. It is hard to recommend a game that is so unbalanced.

  2. Requests for protection on the lower maps has been an issue since the mass exodus of the true Veteran players who sat in the portals protecting the maps from intruders, this was eliminated when the Advanced Jump Chip was added to the game. YES New Players need to have help to keep them safe and is why it is suggested to make friends in the game and seek their assistance in protecting you in the higher maps.

  4. I understand TundraMeadows concern' as said by HelpMe...where back in the day' veterans would defend portal access to company maps like guard hounds (50-60 ships defending a single portal like 3-3 to 2-4) talk about pew pew lazar guns lol. perhaps D.O. should consider modifying the advance jump chip (like done to many ship abilities) so that it functions only in the upper maps, and perhaps in addition allowing it to work on the pirate maps inplace of the lowers?!?

  5. Hey, where is my pool? But anyways, X-3 is a little to early to get jumped by a fully armed Goliath, I just need to make this clear: X-3 should be a PvE map unless the "defenders" attack first, "invaders" should not touch you. Just today I was helping out a Liberator on X-3 against Devolarium and Boss Mordom and a Lightning just jumped on us, nothing to do but be a target practice dummy. Isn't balanced, why not balance it then? We may have just arrived but we're playing this game, it is like going to school to get bullied because you simply cannot evade anything they throw at your... you stop going to school after awhile & I don't wanna stop playing but there are always other opitions, this game has UNIQUE style but pushes newcomers & curious people away, as it is now I mean

So we should have botters a safe heaven to keep on making uri 24/7 without anyone able to shoot them down? No thanks, couldn't never agree with this idea. Btw polls are not allowed to be made in this section :p

The good old bot reference had to come, it never fails... Now i am sure that losing the possibility of shooting down bots would make a ton of difference (sarcasm) but weighting the "disadvantages" of this idea with the benefices of possibly having new players to stick around I can conclude that the "sacrifice" is well worth. Otherwise you may end up here playing alone, with the bots...;)

  8. The problem with this idea is more than the bots. The real problem is that a number of events are held in lowers. Not just special events but regularly scheduled ones as well. That said, new players as well as veterans try to participate in the events and therefore get wrapped up in the PVP aspect of the game at that point. Also, shortly after starting out, if you are working the missions, there are pvp missions to complete early on. Not that you are ready for them, but they give them to you anyways. I feel your pain. I mainly just PVE unless asked to help with a base destruction on this account. There is nothing like trying to complete the daily missions when you get sidelined by raiders. Good luck in the future. It's a game of risk and luck. Keep working, you may find you are the aggressor in a few months.

  9. It difficult for new players to advance in the game with the ease that invaders have to infiltrate enemy maps. I suggest that the advanced jump CPU work only for your own companys map and neutral maps. This will hinder the ability for invaders to infiltrate enemy maps, as well as their buddies who usually come as support too.

EDIT: On a second note I agree with batata . . . Would you rather play on a server where there are only bots on it, or let the bots continue doing what they'd do regardless and have new players stay on the server?

When i was small i have the same problem you solve it by freinds, clans or just accept it ,way back it was much harder to play .

  11. It could be that if you are from a different Company, you cannot attack unless provoked like the X-2 and X-1. Would you guys agree with that? Is not a problem getting killed, but HOW IT HAPPENS is another history... if I were full Elite and got caught by someone, ok, I couldn't handle that guy. But when you CANNOT HANDLE ANYONE is different. Is like when an adult hits a child. Nothing to do other than take the hit...

  12. This guy has a point.

I know that now repairs for every ship are free now, but still, getting killed by players who are very ahead of you is very irritating.

I honestly wish the developers would have worked on solving the balance issues rather than working on those really pointless shiny cartoon graphics we have now.

Why I feel like this solution will not work
The problem this could cause is that it creates the ability to 'attack at will'. With this protection, new players can choose when they want to engage in a fight. While this may sound like a good thing it allows them to select weakened UFE players. So if you are at low HP and shields you can get shot by weaker players but you can never shoot them. Now you might be able to solve this problem with some sort of cooldown as in: when you get attacked by a weaker player, you can attack that player for 1 hour but wait!

How about abilities? Even with poor equipment, Aegis ships can be of great help in any PvP fight. And because you can't attack them, nothing is stopping them from just healing your UFE target over and over again. How would you make it so that you can only attack them if they attack you or heal your enemy? I doubt Bigpoint developers will invest time in these factors. Especially because we have to be honest: servers are not very crowded so if you are limited in who you can shoot, how are you ever going to finish those quest or have some 'fun' showing off your strength.
