[UI] Entity 404 the soviet aproach

    I see a lot of players conserned about the number of players in maps. This is a chain auto destruct reaction since the less players there are more will quit as of under-population.
    Reasons why players quit had been pointed in the past but looks like bp does not want to correct them. As such i sugest the soviet aproach of fixing spaceships with duct-tap (it worked for MIR so...):

    So the problem is "there are little players", solution: "making it look like there are a lot"
    After all "the important is not be but look like" as someone important once said :D

    So how are we going to make the game look full?... :eek:Fake players!!! (Entity 404)
    Yup they are an npcs that behave like a real player.

    Caracteristics:

    They will be created with 3 parameters: name, gear and skill.
    Gear will define the equipment (phoenix <--> ufe).
    Skill will define the attack padron, this is if it uses instas, smarts, emps, etc
    The gear will be based on the map it is spawned, the lower the map the lower the probability of spawning with high gear, (they will spawn on same company maps only).
    Names will be simply random (but coherent).

    Behavior:

    They will sit at port and then go pop some npcs that shoot at them randomly.
    They will attack if fired at (no mater what company) and shase the atacker until it is out of range. (they will not atack passive npcs unless they are in a group).
    They will try to shase and attack enemy players on sight.
    They will count for pvp missions and reward the same as they were real players.
    They will acept group invites and help the leader to pop any npc he/she shoots at (the rewards will be divided same as a normal group) (max 3-5 entitys per group).
    The number of entitys spawned will be related to the number of real players in the map aiming to make constante the number of players/entitys on the map.
    They will not take part on events but they will spaw in pvp maps (but not paladium).

    This solution hopefully will fix both the shortage of cannon fooder and help new players with missions thus giving life to the game.
    This is not a troll post is more like a sugestion for a serum injection on the game.
    Feel free to share your opinion on this.

  2. I agree that DO needs to increase the amount of players once again, but I don't know if this is how to do it. I think adding some new NPC's and Maps might be what they need because that give all players the same opportunity's, instead of adding a new laser which only gives a bonus to the players able to spent money.

    So in other words, I do agree adding a new NPC might be the approach, but not one that can help players in a group. Boxa! had a decent idea that resembles yours in his post here.

    I agree with ading new npcs so ufes have something to do but that alone will not make new players stay (all npcs are new to them anyway). What makes peoples quit besides the ufe bullying and pay-to-win is the fact that there is no one (same level/gear) to play with.
    My idea aims to mitigate the ufe rides (as they would not be poping the same real players repeatedly) and give new players the impression that they are playing with other players. Even if they knew they would still not feel alone has they could pvp and pve in a "full" game.
    My idea as nothing to do with Boxa!´s one. I am not sugesting a new npc to farm uri or help farming uri, the thing about the group is not aimed to help payers make uri (the reward is divided by all entitys/players like the normal one) but helping them making the missions as they are a lot more boring to do when doing them alone than when in a group.

    The above post has a typo:

    The fix for more players would be to have DO merge some of their servers.

    That idea was posted already, u will see that while it looks good on paper i has some problems:

    Resuming:
    1) ufe would shase the remaining new players away has they would be consentrated even more, if u read ufe whant a server merge so they can get more easy kills.
    2) ufe raged about ranks being broken.
    3) there is the problem of multiple acounts (eg u have a ship in bg2 and 1, they both get merged what acount to pik?).
    4) Bp stated that it would require a lot of work. They oficialy stated they wont do it (just imagine the bugs from merging servers when they cannot even lauch an event properly).
