[UI] GA1 merger: Unable to resume normal game play after merger

Long story short, before the merger on GA1, EIC held 5-3, VRU dominated all the rest and all the events, and MMO has strong players but few numbers. The only lucrative map EIC had was 5-3. It was a delicate balance that has been upset by the merger.
Perhaps VRU or MMO had 5-3 on the GA5 map, because they wasted no time taking it away and dominating that.
This is unfair. Please do not tell me to gather my EIC friends and take it back. That is not possible. The majority of players on GA1 do not speak my language and they are in different times zones. How am I supposed to reach these players so we can gather numbers? What little rebellion we've attempted has been useless, some of those players are hitting over 200K, and have billions of shield and no matter what we throw at them, their HP and shield hardly budge. Besides, it is not up to me to fix a problem I didn't create. DO should have looked at the company balance before they merged servers and realized this could be a problem.
I want to be able to collect palladium again. As it stands, the only company able to build free galaxy gates is VRU, except for those multi-company clans who allow only their EIC or MMO clan members to be there and shoot everyone else. This includes their EIC members assisting in shooting other EIC players.
Please make 5-3 a DMZ so only NPCs can be shot. Or create new pally maps for each company to make up for this debacle. It's not fair what's been done, disrupting the game play of long time players on the GA1 server, like they've done.

 

I am still not able to resume my normal game play post merger.
I am still not able to collect palladium for free galaxy gate parts in map 5-3.
I tried reaching out to a few non English speaking EIC players but they don't seem to understand.
It's unfair that whoever decided to do this didn't look at what companies had what maps and merged them with the servers who best matched the existing company balance on the receiving server. (IE - IF VRU HAD PVP MAPS ON EXISTING SERVER, PICK THE CLOSING SERVER WHERE VRU HAS THE SAME MAPS). Obviously, company balance and who had what maps WAS NOT taken into consideration. I still don't get why they didn't stick GA4&5 together instead of burdening us with them.
In the future, DO should give players the option to leave servers & take their existing accounts to servers that better match the game play they are used to before foisting unethical players & screwing up the company balance before merging.

 

Are you still having issues with GA(1) ? I have a ship there and have not seen the same problems as you had described back in December.

 

The server merge wasn't such a great idea huh? But oh nooo it was the thing that was going to save Darkorbit and bring the game back! LOL

Yeah dude I have no sympathy to you guys anymore, you asked for the merge, you got it and whatever symptoms it came with. At least your server is active, my server, USA, is completely dead now and its back to where it was BEFORE the merge! And the only people playing are bots lol!

You got what you guys asked for now live with it.

 

Ok not much help here but, I started an account on GA1 while GA2 was in limbo for the merges.
I am MMO and my limited experience trying to collect Palli has on more than one occasion been interrupted/ ended abruptly by EIC shooting me.

Maybe try and change the time you go to 5-3, when i go there a lot of the time the map is full of EIC, XD.

 

Change your times of active play.

And as Black said above, an overwhelming majority of the players did ask for these server merges. Darkorbit was simply acting upon the request of the community.

To set the record straight, I didn't ask for the merge. I had no idea such a thing existed. So don't go blaming me and being all arrogant and snarky and saying we asked for this. That may be true for some, but not me. This was a big surprise to me since I have no idea what community anyone is talking about ,unless it's the forum, and I don't frequent the forums unless I have a problem. And even then, I don't read every thread, or search for things I don't know exist, if that is the community being referred to. Had I known, you bet I would have voiced my opposition, for what little good it would have done.

Since I posted this, I've talked to non-English speaking players (finally tracked some down) who are used to frequenting 5-3. They are having the same issues. They've said as much as I have about being unable to resume their previous game play since the server merger and are just as frustrated and discouraged as me.

I've tried collecting pally at all different times. 2pm EST on Wednesday or 3 am on a Monday, it doesn't matter. That really was a strange suggestion since GA1 is a global server, players play around the clock because everyone is in different time zones throughout the world, so timing it makes no difference. I've tried gathering up groups, as support and others have suggested, but to no avail. Besides, it's not up to me to try rectify or solve an issue that I didn't cause, but just to humor everyone, knowing it was a waste of time, and prove them wrong, I tried.

Feel free to close this thread because it's obvious that my concerns, and those of other players in the same boat as me, are falling on deaf ears, because nothing has changed since my original post. NOTHING.

 

While i feel for you thinking you have it so much harder since the merge, try to remember - Collecting Palli isn't meant to be easy, it is a PVP map and players can and will shoot each other.
I have collected Palli every day for the last couple of weeks - I've died a few times (all to EIC who seem to think they own 5-3 and will tell you so) and i killed a couple of players who tried to pop me.

While i wish 5-3 was a peaceful map where i could just collect Palli, shoot Battlerays and other NPC's and all other players were friendly and nice to me - It isn't, other players can be downright mean, nasty and annoying.
My suggested solutions - Fight back, run away, go boxing when 5-3 gets too hot.

 

Please save your patronizing and your lame solutions. I'm not stupid, I'm not new. Collecting pally was easy in GA1 pre-merger, regardless if it were meant to be. Anyone who is originally from GA1 would know that. It was a peaceful map because EIC dominated 5-3 while VRU had the lower PVPs and ALL events. It was an even trade. They stayed out of our territory, we stayed out of theirs, and it had been that way for a couple of years, ever since PDT clan left EIC.

Well, sorry to say, but you got three options:
1) Suck it up and stick with it
2) Change Servers
3) Quit the game

5-3 was never meant to be peaceful. It's a PvP map. High Risk <-> High Reward
Companies are meant to dominate events. That's how it's meant to be played. That's the point of Company based events.

 

There is of course a 4th option. Begin talking to EIC members and launch a full on commitment to take back the 5-3 map. I'm sure Taffy is not the only EIC player that feels somewhat robbed.

Call on EIC call on Alliances ... take 'er back. I'm MMO but I am more than willing to come kick some butt for ya Taffy. Just let me know when, I already know where Heck I'll even break out my dusty ol' EIC ship for this one

Sometimes we can't choose the music life gives us but we can definitely choose how we dance​

 

Funny but the only ones i have any trouble with on GA1 in 5-3 are EIC. And only then at certain times, mostly everyone just does their own thing. Maybe part of the problem is, the few EIC who believe they should "own" 5-3 and kill others is the reason EIC players get killed when those guys aren't around.

Could the problem be - Some EIC are making it hard for the rest?
