[UI] Infection VS Disinfection Event + Ship ideas

    - General event explanation -

    I liked the parasite tide event and the Goliath Surgeon but I feel like there were a lot of missed opportunities to create a very fun event for all. I know that, with the current issues (server merge, MCC) introducing new ideas may not be the best time but I am gonna go ahead and do it anyway ;)

    The idea is to create and event where good and bad (infection vs disinfection) fight against each other. All players will be granted with a choice who they want to fight for after which they can score points for their side by killing infected or disinfected players (depending on the side they chose).

    All players that chose the winning side will be granted with the following items:
    25,000 uridium
    10,000 UCB-100
    500 UBR-100

    To help you scoring points and distinguish your side, there will also be a release of known ships in an infected and disinfected coat ;).

    Depending on your choice, one of these ship types will serve you well but you are not limited so don't hesitate fighting the infection with and infected ships. After all, sometimes you will have to fight fire with fire!

    The ships can be crafted which will require a blue-print that can be obtained by completing various infection or disinfection missions. Apart from a blue-print, the ships will also require a new type of ore, in addition to the other ores and hardware required: Infected or disinfected crystals. These crystals can be obtained by collecting boxes, completing galaxy gates, completing missions.

    Because the infection mechanic and the ships may change the current meta, it could be possible to make it so that the ships can only be used during the event and then one day per week or so (depending on how it goes).


    - New infected ships -

    Before I start with the stats of the new ship types, Ill start by changing the current infection debuff. This is mainly done to make it less annoying as I feel like the speed reduction as it currently is is to much of a game changer. So here are the new infection stats:

    Infection stats:
    +10% laserdamage
    -5% speed
    -10% HP
    Cannot be removed by an EMP

    Duration: 15 min or until death

    Furthermore, note that only the stats are important, of course the Spearhead Infector could also be the Pusat Infector or it could be a completely new ship, I only chose the Spearhead, Aegis and Citadel because I feel like the current stats are alternatives for their original role. Last but not least: Red indicates a potential downside while green indicates a potential upside.

    Spearhead Infector

    Poison-build-up

    This ship is now infected.
    Duration: instant
    Cooldown: 30 seconds


    Removal
    This ability disables all passive abilities of the affected target.
    Duration: 10 seconds
    Cooldown: 45 seconds


    Amplifying vial
    Fire a rocket at an infected players to double the virus effect (does not stack).
    Rocket can’t miss.

    Rocket has a short range
    Duration: 10 seconds
    Cooldown: 2 minutes



    Citadel Butcher

    HP500,000

    This ship instantly restores 20% of its HP and 10% of its shield whenever a player kill is made (player killed must be above level 17)

    Deadly desire:
    If this ship is not infected its shield will be drained by 0,125% per second

    Infective shockwave

    This ability generates a shockwave that infects all players in range (including yourself).
    Duration: instant
    Cooldown: 2 minutes


    Damage burst
    Grants a 10% laserdamage boost while active
    Drains your shield by 2,5% per second while active
    Duration: turn on/off
    Cooldown between toggle: 5 seconds


    Speed burst
    Grants a 10% speedboost while active
    Drains your shield by 2,5% per second while active
    Duration: turn on/off
    Cooldown between toggle: 5 seconds


    Aegis Condemner

    HP250,000
    Max base speed540

    PassiveRegenerating virus:
    For as long as this ship is infected, it will heal 0,25% shield per second

    Poison build up

    This ship is now infected.
    Duration: instant
    Cooldown: 30 seconds.


    Infected armor
    This ability infects every player that deals any damage to your HP.
    Duration: 3 seconds
    Cooldown: 2 minutes


    Infected heal
    This ability heals both you and a friendly locked player by 10,000 HP and 10,000 shield per second.
    Heals 50% less for non-infected players.
    Duration: 5 seconds
    Cooldown: 45 seconds.

    - New Disinfected ships -

    Spearhead - Supporter

    PassiveAntidote:
    This ship can’t be infected, in any way, by any means.

    Containing cage

    Reduces the damage output from a locked infected player by 5% (stacks).
    Duration: 8 seconds
    Cooldown: 30 seconds.


    Hybrid-virus
    Gain the reversed boosts and penalties of a standard virus.
    Duration: 10 seconds
    Cooldown: 1 minute 30 seconds


    Quick-desinfection
    Remove an infection from a friendly locked player.
    Duration: instant
    Cooldown: 30 seconds.


    Citadel – Exterminator

    HP550,000
    Max base speed528
    Lasers9

    PassiveAnti-virus:
    Any damage done to this ship by infected players is reduced by 10%

    Anti-infection-shield

    This ability removes infections and grants immunity against a new infection for both you and your outfitmembers.
    Duration: 15 seconds
    Cooldown: 30 seconds


    Protective-shield
    This ability grants a 25% laserdamage resistance from NPCs and infected players for both you and your outfitmembers.
    Does not redirect damage towards your ship.

    Duration: 10 seconds
    Cooldown: 45 seconds


    Desinfective Armor
    This ability reduces the laserdamage from infected players against your ship by 35%
    Reduces your speed by 10%
    Duration: turn on/off
    Cooldown: 5 seconds between toggling


    Aegis – Savior
    Not really ideas for this one yet xD

    Sounds actually good, but it really wonders me if it's really worth to craft the infected ships only for event and they're not pretty logical to use after the event itself, meanwhile I love to see new ships with different purpose and timings and not for all-around just like other ships are. Spearhead, Aegis and Citadel were exactly built as situational and team up ships, while Aegis still became a common all-around ship. Surgeon is a good all-around ship for this event, but it could be changed also for this event.

    But this still leaves me with questions like
    • Will this new event be completely PvP sided or will PvE affect also on this?
    • Depending also the length of the event, are the rewards worth in terms of how much we lose on it?
    • Will the Spearhead, Aegis and Citadel (if they were chosen) have their regular abilities as well?
    • If the ships / designs benefit of being infected, will the enemies have a possibility to cure them with the Anti-CPU? (I don't know if it's already possible.)
    • The companies still exists, but if you're in the same team, then what happens if you kill each other? Nothing?

    And it left me with ideas like
    • If the duration is 2 weeks, why not swapping the teams after the first week, as it could turn the battle completely over?
    • Infection booty boxes with possibly having these ships, drones, P.E.Ts similar to Obsidian and Apocalypse but infection stuff in general.
    • Making also new Hellstorm / Rocket ammo for the new event(?) (Highly questionable, as the PIB-100 ammo is already enough annoying.)
    • Making different level of infections. Level 1 could be like stated in your post, level 2 would be a bit more disadvantage and level 3 would make significant damage to your ship, while also slowing it down and making it weaker. Levels could be increased after using x amount of times the Spearhead ability, but not making it too easy, as it might break the game.
    • What if every ship would be turned like these during the event and not making new ones?
    Some of the ideas might not be good, but at least I tried. Waiting on the disinfected ones if they all makes these ideas bad.

    Might actually play this event if it will become in the future. :D
