[UI] Make DO a download, and have auction in real time.

BP should be making enough money by now (10 years of DO) to make Dark Orbit a download and make it a full fledged MMO game. They would get rid of the browser style game and have everything in game. Meaning auction, skylab, store ect. All you do is launch the game and it wouldn't require a bunch of windows open. I feel it would give players a more fluid experience. You'd have more graphical options as well (4k anyone?) for those of us with computers that can handle that higher resolution.

This brings me to my next thing, making the auction more real time, updating each second. I find it frustrating that it takes 30-45 seconds to refresh the page or to accept a bid. I've had it apply to the next hour and not the one i initially wanted to bid on. I hate that.

I don't know if BP has the resources to be able to do this, and i have no idea the work required to switch from a browser game to a downloadable game.

What do you guys think?

 

In an earlier twitch stream they talked a little about this and they mentioned that they are working on a downloadable client.

A while ago I also fell over this, so it seems like the game will be ported to Unity. I am looking very much forward to this and not only could the performance of the game be increased a lot, I also think it could actually bring many new possibilities for the game.

 

I really think that this should be the number one problem solver for DO. Make it a download and all the other issues they're having on their end would be easier to deal with. I watched their most recent twitch yesterday after i posted these threads. I liked where they were going and how they were thinking. They should merge some servers together, AND have cross server maps, AND all server events.


I just checked your link, and i saw that before too. I wish i had the experience they're requiring because I'd love to be apart of that.

That seems kind of strange, polls are imperative to gathering the public opinion to an idea so its easier for you guys to see who agrees and who doesnt, alot of the time people only read and dont comment. Voting on a poll would tend to be easier.

But i understand, rules are rules. Didnt see it in the rules though. Correction, i checked and it is in bold red letters. oops
