[UI] New Tech Items

  1. hardly see anyone uses those we aleady have....so maybe some new things in tech? and any suggestions for new ones guys?
     
  2. You are not looking very well as I see many people using the targeting frequently. But the formations have eliminated the need for some of them.

    It isn't that the current Tech items are not useful, it is more a combination of tediousness of making one at a time and the Uridium cost to make a lot. Some may need changing/buffing but I'm sure you would see much more people using them if those two things changed.

    So in short no new Tech item is gonna get used too much like how system/price currently is, unless it is incredibly useful/strong forcing people to need to have it(not a good idea)... Not that more options are bad but the two things I mentioned needs sorting out, so then people will actually use Tech items much.


    Though at least what can think of at the moment, maybe could make a new Tech item that deflects/redirects damage. To be more precise say you are getting shot at by multiple people, use that Tech item then a certain amount of damage you are receiving goes to whoever you're currently targeting/shooting... Could see that making people think twice about ganging up on people lol.

    Although it would probably be important that it is only able to work if you are actually getting shot at by multiple people... :eek:

  5. @Kyro isn't this just another version of the LEACH Tech? The biggest difference I see is the LEACH returns HP from the damage you inflict instead of the damage caused by others.

    It's similar in the sense that it is vaguely "damage" dependant but it is pretty different, and obviously serves a different purpose. Although sure a Tech item like that would have a possible flaw of people will shoot eachother on purpose... like say instead of just shooting that one person, they shoot each other. :eek:

    Though basically the whole idea of what I said was: It would be a pretty good thing if even when outnumbered you still have a somewhat chance to fight back. At least from my experiences with PvP on DarkOrbit there are fine lines between close, losing and winning battles. Only one of those I find fun and that is the close battles, so stuff to help those close battles happen more at least in my opinion can only be a good thing.


    Edit: But guess should make clear this is mostly just about cases where you're outnumbered, or caught by surprise etc(that if skillful should be able to turn the tide). I don't mean if it's just a difference in skill, at least for me a game that tries to blur "skill"(/make less important) is not a game I would play.

    I'd like to see a tech center ability that converts 50% or more of damage taken from a player to the npc ur shooting while farming. Perhaps 50% in the upper maps and 100% in the lowers.

    Or an ability that acts like the x-1 maps boon to see a yellow circle around cloaked ships.

    Or just making the option of having Tech center abilities both static and permanent on ships without abilities
