Ok, so a few years back I made this suggestion, however at the time the ideas boards were filled with the community requesting various updates to weapons, ammo, npcs, galaxy gates and the like, since then DO has implemented many upgrades relating to such, so I thought I'd try my idea again.

Welcome to Phoenix Battle Grounds (aka Battle Eggs)

The concept is a simple one, have a global battle map accessible from all servers which you choose to access via a button on your game map just like UBA.
On entering the map you are allocated a fully equipped Phoenix ship with 10 drones and a set amount of ammo. All ships have the same configuration (LF2s, BO2s, x3 ammo, SAB ammo, Instas, Smarts and EMPs) which cannot be changed by the user. The ships do not show player name nor do they show any company allegiance. You fight whoever you see without knowing if its a clan mate or some random player from another part of the world.

On being destroyed, you are placed back on your home base on your own server.

Global ranks will be calculated on number of battles, wins and losses and held on a global rank page. This page will show your player name and home server. (Although this info is hidden whilst playing the map, it can be tracked via global UID etc)

    The map is accessible 24/7

Maximum map numbers to be determined by Dev team.

Chat would either be switched off whilst in map or locked to the global chat of the players home server.

This is all about the skill of the pilot, your home server, clan, company, personal equipment and level don't matter as we'll all be equal in the Phoenix Battle Ground. Do you try to help the Phoenix next to you and hope he doesn't pop you as a thank you or do you fly around solo. The choice is yours.
Battles are won and lost purely on when you chose to SAB or Smart Bomb, do you fly in firing, sneak up or drag your opponent to their doom?

    Positives

Allows new and small players to enjoy PVP on a level playing field whilst building their accounts on their home server.

Allows players to enjoy the large scale battles of old without clan or company domination.

Everything is equal, we all have the same configs and ammo so its down to player skill and luck.

A true free aspect to the game that doesn't interfere with your home server ranks or ship.

I like the basic concept - BUT it would be better if everyone could make their own configs but just make restricted what can be used and what not because someones are experts fighting with shield and some with damage. (Or atleast I would never go to fight with configs i dont master) Also just like uba would need, all ammoes unlimited for during the battle.

  3. I think this is a great idea, and easy to implement.

it then progress through the different ships on a weekly basis. Battle of the Bigboys, has such a nice ring to it :)

Nice simple concept Olycat and skill needed to win seems good to me . Will make a change from being blasted to bits by people who can afford to pay cash for their upgrades and not have the skills to put up a level fair fight . Too many time I have had to log off for a few hours until an enemy pocket warrior has left our maps . I cannot see the enjoyment they get from blasting away players who have never paid for any upgrades because they cannot afford it . I am up for this Olycat and can I add the possibility of putting high level players from all over other servers into a server of their own or have global servers that are geared to rank.
