  1. I'm not yet basic FE and most of the time when I get popped it's due to the "Ice cube" rockets, ability, or whatever it's called. I have little idea what this thing is since it is not in the shop nor in any menu, but I do know it "Ice cubes" the opponent's ship, stopping them for about 3 seconds. I have to say that this guarantees a nup (New and underpowered player) kill since it directly disables a nup's often-only defense no matter their distance from port (Given they aren't in one.)

Combine it with cloak, and a nup's fate is sealed once detected.

Being popped as a nup is already frustrating, having no control of escape once detected is even more frustrating.

My suggestion is to either remove it and/or replace it with something similar.

Thank you (all) for your consideration.

  2. They are called Icy Rockets and are available during special events (Usually WinterFest) and given as rewards at times. You can read about the NEW rockets in >this thread< but it is an older posting about them.

  3. Thank you, I found this to be interesting:

"This change essentially makes the IC3 a more tactical instrument. It still works by stopping the target’s movement for 2 seconds, it’s longer reload will make it harder to “spam” it.

The changed price does reflect the goal to make this rocket a tool instead of a cheap way to overpower your target."

If the IC3 is crucial in the popping of nups, then it must be adjusted to a state where it is not a cheap way to directly attack a nups biggest defense: escape.

One possible solution is to have the restriction of using the rocket only if the opponent fires back with lasers. This way a nup can use more defensive options without IC3 retaliation and can even use IC3 back on the opponent without enemy IC3 retaliation if said enemy uses lasers, which would likely be the case. Now experienced players battling each other can have use of the tool without compromising a nub's escape.

And then there's the bots which will escape, since they never shoot back. Complicated.

    just get urself spectrum....

  6. Bots are banned under DO policy, so why should we change the IC3 further solely on this? It is also fallacious to assume that all bots who don't shoot back will always escape. By context, you are saying that IC3 is the only way to prevent a bot's escape. If the fate of a ship depends solely on IC3, then such a mechanic is no longer a tool but instead a cheap way to destroy a target, since it was determined by your context that IC3 is the only way to prevent a bot's escape. The goal of my recommendation is to allow usage of IC3 when both players are willing to fight.

Why should I and other nups pay money and/or bid hundreds of millions of credits (we most likely don't have) on a spectrum? Additionally, the devs have stated that it is their goal, regardless of ship type, for the IC3 to be "A tool instead of a cheap way to overpower your target". Your statement makes as much sense as "Just don't play the game, you'll never have to face this problem." Please be constructive.

Wow, and because you're getting attacked, you can ice rocket the attacker = you can escape. Still the same result. Get yourself the Spectrum, if you want to be alive. Nerfing the Ice Rocket more than it is nerfed now, won't help you at all.

    EDIT:
To be honest, everything is this game is a cheap way to destroy a target.

Then just get ice rockets urself, the moment ur enemy ice rockets u, u just emp+ice rocket him+cloak... and then u can just run away.

    LOlololololollolool
"Then just get ice rockets urself" They are not in sale
"the moment ur enemy ice rockets u, u just emp+ice rocket him+cloak... and then u can just run away" Except the enemy will emp as well and then chase the 3 flax player he is probably shooting at, in a tart, and then 3 shoot him. Also the darn clock, besides useless in this case, costs a ridiculous ton of money in most servers. Also Also new players dont have infinite emps, ish or ice rockets like ufes, even more after ufes raged about good box events because:
That nonsence bot argument wich serve as a backup together with the "pvp game" against ideas that make the new player farming more dificult.

And specrum: 1) Is darn expencive even with craftting such that by the time new players can craft it they already quit 2) It will soon be nerfed required by ufes cus it was being to hard to instapop nups with it.

Ice Rockets = nothing if enemy has the Tartaurs, if they want to chase noobs, they don't need any ice rockets. You can't evade UFE's in any form. Either they RSB combo you, or they plague you or they shoot DCR rocket. And even if they did none of those, they could use Wheel and still pop you. And even if you shot DCR, or even slow mine or Ice Rocket (but you don't have as they're not in sale duhh), they could EMP. Wow.

The nerfing of Ice Rocket won't do a thing. If you want to nerf something, first nerf the LF-4, then nerf the engines and then nerf the Wheel formation.

None of these will happen, either will the Ice Rocket nerf. It's a sad fact that nerfing the Ice Rocket does nothing. Not even removal of it, except that people will start using DCR, which is way more annoying.
