[UI] Server Merge

When is Dark orbit going to merge servers. after the game dies? players should be given a option if they want to merge to a new server. or if they just want to stay with there old server. or just change servers. they could take usa east/west and merge it to global usa east/west for the player looking for a more active east/west coast action. or let the players pick there own servers. Why pay for all the dead servers Big Point. when u could merge them? Big Point would save money and make more if this game became more active

 

This has been said many MANY times before on the forum , believe me. Darkorbit can definitely do this since they're able to create the UBA or Training Arena where you come up against ships from different servers but it's a lot more complicated than you think. As well as that if you were to merge gb1 and gb2 for example , both are relatively quiet , not dead but you can solo cube at most times of day with no trouble. but if you did merge them , it would be extremely busy and more people would come to play on the server ( it would just be known as gb1 again) for PvP since there would be so many more ships to kill and hunt with. It would then get to the point where there was so many people that there would be a need for another gb2 server to reopen and then many of the players would move to there to get to the top of the leaderboards and get the top ranks and the same thing would happen as what is currently happening.
This is just a theory of mine so I could be completely wrong! it could work out great merging quiet servers together and might not get to the point of there having to be another server opened back up and it could work great. However there is another massive problem I must make clear to you.
Using GB1 and GB2 servers as examples again , what if some one had an account on gb1 with a ufe ship and they also played on gb2 with the same account and had a ufe ship there too, considering they spent many many hours and a lot of money into both ships on the same account but on different servers, If they merged gb1 and gb2 then what would happen to their gb2 ship?? they would loose lots of time and money since you cant have both of your ships merged together like the servers and im sure they wouldnt want their hard work and money wasted.
The merging of servers can and could happen but I think at the moment there's too much to consider, and anyway I love all the new ideas and updates DO are giving us , The UBA seasons and the new 3D! but I think they're doing good at the moment.
Don't get me wrong sometimes I wish my server was a little busier too for more ship kills but then I couldn't solo cube and box without being disturbed.
