[UI] Ship Modules (Ship Ability based)

  1. Hello, i've thought of an idea about having other similar ship modules specifically for ships with abilities such as the Aegis, Citadel, Spearhead, and other Goliath Variance like the Venom, Sentinel and so on.

    These type of Ship modules will be considered as is, but their name will be different and their Slot on ships with abilities would have a separate slot to be installed, preferably below the Ship Module slots on every ship.
    NOTE: Only Ships with abilities would get these slots, other ships like the Cyborg, and Hammerclaw will be excluded from this feature to be fair considering they have enhanced versions of their predecessors (Respectively Venom for Cyborg, and Aegis for Hammerclaw)
    Ships with abilities will only have 1 skill module slot to install their desired module, if a ship has more than 1 ability to choose from, they can only install their desired skill module on that slot.

    They will be categorized as "Skill Modules" that enhances certain abilities with varying benefits and negative effects, though some might have negative effects that outweighed by the benefits a skill module can provide with the enhancements toward the abilities of a particular ship but the better the benefits and the less the negative effects, the difficult it is to obtain such skill modules as it is the norm in the DarkOrbit universe.

    Different Qualities of Skill Modules
    Skill modules have different sets of numbered category, meaning that a skill module in the highest category would have more enhancements and less negative effects towards that ship's ability or on your ship, either before or after using the said ability. Each skill module will have varying negative effects on certain abilities, but there will be different enhancement to choose from and an example of that would be:

    • SKM-Aegis-Type1 "Shield Repair"
    • - Increases the Shield Repair by 2x
    • - Reduces Ship Speed by 25% while ability is being used
    • SKM-Aegis-Type2 "Shield Repair"
    • - Instantly recovers the overall amount of shields to be repaired
    • - Reduces Laser and Rocket damage by 5% for 10 seconds after using the ability
    • SKM-Aegis-Type3 "Shield Repair"
    • - Reduces Shield Damage by 20% for 6 seconds after ability use
    • - Uses 10% of your Max HP as Penalty
    Some skill modules will have impressive enhancements but will have bad side effects, some skill modules will offer benefits without underlying negative effects, each can be used to customize your ship's abilities and can be a combo for 2 different configurations, such as using a certain type of skill module, switching to your 2nd config would have a different type of skill module and using another ability with it could negate the side effects from the first.

    Methods of Obtaining Skill Modules
    I've figured out that the most basic skill modules can be bought at shop for Uridium, a small price to pay for such useful feature, lets say the average cost would be 30,000 Uridium.
    Some Rare skill modules would only be available as loot from Galaxy Gates, Uber NPCs, and on Pirates with different enhancements and/without negative side effects

    This is also a cool marketing strategy for them to take advantage, they can put a sale on Shop selling the best possible skill modules for a lot of uridium, people might have the uridium for it, but others might be tempted to spend some cash in order to get it, depending on the skill module for each type of ship, the price might range from 300,000 Uridium to 1,500,000 Uridium and Ofc it won't be obtainable through any other normal means besides buying it out from the shop.


    This is my own suggestion, but i am expecting for D.O to have planned all of this a long time ago, or probably someone have already suggesting something like this, anything could happen at any given time but leave a comment and share your opinion about it, i take any kind of criticism so long as it relates to the topic, Thanks for reading.
