[UI] Skylab uses

    I have searched the forums for Skylab threads, and all I could find were multiple people asking for more and more seprom, so heads up: not a seprom thread

    After getting back to the game after 3 years of not playing, I have come to only one update to the Skylab, Zeus drone, which is actually not part of the Skylab, but of the Tech center, and no different from the Apis drone I already knew about.

    As such, Skylab really didn't change on these 3 years (or more, I don't know when it started), and all I see is wasted potential of something really cool.

    "Why wasted potential?", you ask. Well, after talking to multiple people on both DO game chat and Discord chat, I saw that no one really cares about the Skylab as a whole. It only has 2 pratical uses: selling ores (and only promerium once you get your hands on it) and seprom. Seprom, seprom and more seprom.

    We have an entire build up of collectors, modules and refineries only to get seprom. In the end, all the other ores are completely useless, because you don't ever worry about them running out and they have no other uses.

    And from that comes my suggestion: please create an alternative to use these ores.

    It doesn't have to be an alternative to power the ships in place of seprom, but stuff like unique ammo, rockets, mines both to low level and high level players.

    Maybe a laser that deals extra damage against a specific alien family, or deals extra damage when you are on a specific map.

    New tech items but for low level players on low maps. Maybe smaller variants of those that already exist made from the other ores that only affect aliens. I know the PVP is huge but there are people that enjoy PVE as well.

    If Skylab was made just for the seprom, the developers really did most of it for nothing, and that's sad. Please consider making something greater of it.

  2. Transfer/sell the other ores till at bare minimum to run at max capacity for seprom to run/manufacture at full max and ship operational. Get premium and watch/sell the other ores drop fast while you get $$$/credits. A win-win. The skylab end result is - yes - seprom.

A fully built Skylab will run efficiently with nothing in storage but, Prometid and Duranium generate a little more (about 6 pieces each a day) than the Promerium refinery uses and you can create enough ore in the Promerium (4584) and Seprom (4536) to make 1 transfer a day (about 20 hours full load) to a Citadel with Cargo Bay Extender, Pet, and 2 (level 3, 5 will give enough space to do a full 25 1/2 hour transfer 12800) Cargo Protocols (9920). I also use the credit robot to increase the collection of Prometium to send it to the ship every 12 days to kill the daily quest "Prometium Deficiency" (takes 2 days of double sends without the extra Protocols)) and will turn off the Terbium Collector for 3 minutes to create the Prometid needed for "Earn Credits" quest giving me extra Endurium to increase the transfers to a full load.

    The biggest deal with the BUILD of the SkyLab was a matter of planning and time to keep it progressing while still getting enough credits and ore to make the upgrades needed for the maximum game benefit. BUT YES the ultimate goal was the SEPROM production for the benefit of upgrading the shields and weapons and not running out of the Seprom but then it is also used for Pilot Point Skills too.
