[UI] Supership and Fodder balancing

  1. As can be seen more and more, especially during last few events, it has become much more of a farm the newbie fodder game and less of a game that requires a minimum of thought.
    Lower level, or for whatever reason, a more poorly equipped ship, is most often the target of a ship sporting a huge difference in weapon capability.
    Whether they are very new players who happen to be in a spot far from safe when a fodder cruiser comes through, or a longer term player who just doesn't have the real life resources to pay for a lot of the special equipment, there is a vast gulf in ship potentials.

    To make it a more evenly matched game (for most people), I suggest the following:

    No points of any type gained if target is more than 500 rank points difference
    ( this includes points associated to experience, honour, as well as credits and amount of resource drops, etc. )
    AND
    If greater than 1000 rank points difference, there is a loss of experience, honour, credits, potential resource drop, etc. equal to whatever could have been won).

    Fight within your own division, so to speak.

    But rank may not be currelated with the ship power, i have seen ufes with extra low rank.
    I think a much more efective way of comparing would be a "rank" based on actual ship specs (i.e dmg and shield).
